Pat Kirwan Mentions Lions Several Times in his Fascinating Draft Moments
On nfl.com, they have posted a list of Pat Kirwan's most perplexing and fascinating moves of the draft. The lions popped up a couple times. Here is the link for the entire article :

And here are the excerpts that apply to the lions :
Round 2
The Lions take S Louis Delmas at the top of the second round.
Delmas is a very good player who shined at the Senior Bowl against better competition than he saw at Western Michigan, butJames Laurinaitis and Rey Maualuga were still on the board. It fascinated me that he Lions passed on those players.
Round 7
The Lions draft LB Zack Follett out of California.
I spent time talking with Follett this spring, and it took 10 seconds to realize this guy lives and breathes football. He left college with 245 tackles, 51 tackles for a loss and 23.5 sacks. He had more sacks than most of the premier pass rushers in the draft. I was perplexed he was still available in the seventh round.
Interesting comments about Follett. It seems like a lot of people are pretty high on this guy. The talk of Follett however, does remind me a lot of the discussions we had about Jordon Dizon after last years draft. If he is another Jordon Dizon, at least this time we got him in the 7th round instead of the 2nd.

I'm pretty sure he has no shot at MLB
Coaches said he’ll be an OLB.
Pride of Detroit, SB Nation's Lions Blog
The thought Dizon could be an MLB
In any league other than Powderpuff football was mindboggling to me
Follett has one of the best highlight films I've ever seen.
I can see him launching his human missle on Devon Hester.

Simply Awesome!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the link!!!!! I think I’m going to love this kid. He looks like he tries to kill whoever he hits. I love that in a LB!!!!!!!!

So did Jordan Dizon..
Dizon was all over the field and made some monster hits in his highlight reels.. then he joined the lions and I think played twice.
It’s possible he could be an all star but we would never know because Grampa was so scared of being the first 0-16 coach last year he wouldn’t put any of the rooks in..
I'm a huge Cal fan
So I’m obviously thrilled the Lions got Follett. Here is my favorite Follett moment:

Love the picture
Will love it even more if he turns out to be a stud MLB and the name on the QB jersey says Rodgers,Rosenfeld, and CUTLER.
It's a bird It's a plane no It's Supergrew I hope that name sticks.

Very Nice
I am sure Pettigrew will be a nice fit for us, should improve the run game. I can even make a case for why they took him instead of Oher. But I don’t get why they left Lariunitis on the board to take Delmas. (Sorry Bennie, I know you are big on him) But we needed someone in the middle to stop other teams run. I just didn’t get that one.
We'll just have to wait and see.
Looks like the o-line is for next years draft. From what I can see the reason I think Schwartz didn’t pick a MLB as opposed to a S is because he must have more faith in his abilities to coach and develop potential at MLB. I’m troubled they didn’t look to upgrading the o-line at all really. Its what it is though so hopefully watching the ’10 Lions will be a less painful than the ’09 Lions. Changing the logo worked for the Buccaneers so maybe it will for us too.
I mean '09 Lions will be less painful to watch than the '08.
But if ’09 is bad then I do mean it.

Or Bobby Bucheaux
that kid from South Central Louisiana State University. I think he was a chemistry major?
We have to develop more nicknames for our players
I love the ‘Pain Train’, I must remember it. We have we got already that have nicknames- Megatron, K-Smooth….anyone got any others?
2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).

Lackus Backus?
Gayola? How about “Anti-Adrian” Peterson? “Thank God I’m not Marv” Levy?
I know….these are cheesy reachs…..but I’m just joking.
Stop gaps
I’m officially on the Brandon Spikes wagon thanks to this draft. I would’ve liked to see them address either the defense or the line a little more in this draft. Hoping the DT has what it takes, and Delmas, team him up with Spikes since we missed out on JamesL/Rey paired with Taylor Mays
