Where can I get my Derrick Williams jersey?
or perhaps he will choose #11 so my old Roy W. jersey won’t go to waste
Check out nickandroll.blogspot.com
Yeah, CP is #11...
I was just being funny. I dunno on Delmas… wanting to get a jersey? I think he’ll be lights out at safety.
I didn't realize...
That the numbers on the jersey incorporate a little of the new font, with the little swish or swoosh or whatever you call it at the corners.

The Authentic Jerseys
Look A lot better, I think that when you look at the picture of the picks holding the jerseys the font looks really good.

If I were to get a jersey from this draft class
It would be that one.
2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).
I'm trying to con my wife into ordering me one to wear to the Lions - Saints game..
So that way I can be at the first regular season game to show my support for our new GrewBeast
LOVING PETTIGREW...
…the more I look into him. He could end up being a very solid TE in this league. Great run blocker, excellent hands, smart, and serious…..
…My next jersey might be a Petti.
GO LIONS! RESTORE THE ROAR!
And...
…between him, CJ, Bryant Johnson, and Kevin Smith…our offense has a lot of good options. Just gotta protect the QB and shore up the ‘points against’ stat.
GO LIONS! RESTORE THE ROAR!
Protect the QB? Why bother? We have a beast at TE!
Apparently Pettigrew will clear out half of the defensive line before he runs his five yard buttonhook.
Maybe we can convert him into a Left Tackle! Then we can protect the QB.
Damn! Maybe we should have just drafted an LT. Too bad none were available. Oh, wait…………..
Gotta disagree with ya,dude
I think it is a great pick. Not only did the Lions get a monster blocker (he loves blocking, begs to have running plays follow him), he’s an excellent receiver and a great safety valve for Shiny (love that nickname, MattyZ!) which we’ve never had for any QBs here in Detroit.
I’ve been hearing on hear and all over the radio how the TE is a luxury pick, only playoff/near-playoff teams utilize them. If you look at team records, that seems true, but look at successful QBs and they were developed with a TE-
Eli came in and allready had Shockey
Big Ben has Heath Miller
Rivers came in with Gates
Cutler had Scheffler
Peyton came in with Pollard and uses the hell outta the TE still
Aaron Rogers has Donald Lee to bail him out
Romo had Witten…I could go on
This was a pick to help develop Shiny to succeed. Seems like they really do plan on developing him right. Same argument can be said for the WR pick. Williams is going to be his slot receiver for years to come, so we actually got Shiny 2 safety valves to prevent him from busting. Hey, you wanted him, now ya gotta deal with what comes with it. Plus Linehan uses the TE alot in his scheme
I hope so Jazzy
Yes, I wanted Stafford but would feel a lot better if they had upgraded our O Line. I have nothing against Pettigrew and will love to see him with the Lions, I just disagree where they took him and who they passed over.
By the way, nice research on the QB/TE combos.

I would've liked to have seen a good guard drafted
Maybe the new OL coach has a clue what he’s doing
I like having the best TE over the #4 OT drafted. Also, the TE selected with the compensatory pick is a helluva blocker. Linehan uses alot of 2 TE sets for max protect.
I was pissed off about the draft at first too, amigo, but when I thought about it, smoked a big fat bowl, then remembered to start thinking about it more, this was a solid draft
