George Foster for Foote?
I read and post over at BehindtheSteelCurtain. I hated to barge in and slap up a fanpost, but the Larry Foote thread looked to be running down. In reference to my question above, I am wondering what adjustments would need to happen to make a trade like this work. Extra picks to us, or to you? Or straight up? It will never happen I suppose, since Foster is lightly regarded these days. But I like his body of work at Denver and suspect he has some greatness left in the right situation. Whaddaya say?

I would...
Take that straight up right now. However, to make the best decision I would want to realistically know the interest from other teams. We are set at RT and most here would love to have Foote.

I heard Foote is mostly intrested in Arizona
Ken Wisenhunt ( Ex Steelers coach) plus 4 ex Steelers coaches on that staff
Wisenhunt runs the same defense as Steelers, they are more likely to have a good team..and 6 Steelers in the past 3 yrs have “migrated” there
Lions should just try to trade a 4th rounder for him ..he will be worth it
I've said it before, but this is getting ridiculous
Stop posting all of these “rumors” if you don’t have a source. Did you miss the story where Foote said “Detroit is always No. 1”? He said he wants to play for the Lions, so don’t give me this crap about how he’s interested in the Cardinals.

the "Detroit # 1 " was written by a Lions beat writer

Foote said Detroit
He’s not directly interested in Arizona. The Steelers are only trying to trade him there, and that’s a slim chance at best. But I guess Foote isn’t a reliable source though. We have to believe some other source that’s only approved by the National Association of Unreliable Hunches.
Neither is posting a link once in a while
You can’t just spew stuff without backing it up.

Apparently
The Detroit Free Press, the Detroit News, and Larry Foote himself are not as reliable as the NFL network or Steelers.com. Actually, I could have sworn that I read that they were going to release him until they found out that he wanted to go to Detroit. Now they all of a sudden think that they can trade him when there was no interest before? Give me a break.
they should...
trade that extra 5th rounder they got from the Jets, but I guess they offered a 7th. With the guys they got in the 5th round this year or next for that matter, Foote would be a definate step up, but considering they have not 1 viable MLB on the roster, except for UDFAs. So, I’m not sure what their thinking is, do they realistically believe some converted OLB, is gonna be better than a guy who’s won to Superbowls?
It's really odd...
You two Detroit fans like the straight up deal. At least one Pittsburgh fans like it too. Didn’t expect that. No haters so far…
Who knew?
Not that odd for us...
We would be trading a reserve for a starter…It sounds like the same might be true from the other way around, kind of a good trade if you ask me.

Considering we just re-signed Foster earlier this month and his performance last year
I would be ecstatic if that’s all we had to give up for Foote.

That would be outstanding for Detroit in my opinion
Too bad it would be screwing Pittsburgh over. They would be nuts to take that trade.
suprised
I would be suprised if Foote didnt come to detroit after if he gets released. WHen I googled him it said nothing about indie and zona. All it said was that he well more than likely be released after the mini camp this weekend.
If you want George Foster
you can take him for absolutely nothing at all. If you want to throw in Larry Foote, you’re a saint.
+1
