Foote feels Lions DONT want him..
Larry Foote says he would like to play for Detroit, but hes not sure the felling is mutual. ( NFL.com / rumors - Larry Foote..Detroit News,Larry Foote Google,Footes agent, and Pittsburgh Post Gazette) hope thats enough sourses for you..as of 12:10 pm Apr 30th.. and Steelers.com says Cards/Indy and Browns have shown an intrest in Foote..
Plz remember I WANT FOOTE badly, hes young, can play 3 downs, would start day 1..hes a winner , and he would make the LB core very good..
According to Detroit News and Pittsburg Steelers.com Foote had 3 chances (in the past 4 yrs to come to Detroit) he turned them down all 3 times ( Lions offered more money than Pitt each time)
I read where he would like to play at home ( Detroit) but hes not sure thats the Lions want him . i wonder why the Lions wouldnt want him? he will be 29 during the season ,but most linebackers can play into mid 30s no problem)

ralph, That just demonstrates Foote's good judgement.
Lets face it, would you leave a perrenial Super Bowl contender for a team that was run by Matt “The Wizard of Allen Park” Millen?
It would have had to been a lot more money.
Chanbe of GM could have changed his mind
If he had a chance in the past and didn’t come to the Lions, it could have been strictly because of Millen. Lets hope that is true and Mayhew finds a way to get him here. He has alot more football in him. Not to mention he would be a nice addition to the D.

I tried all your search suggestions. Could you please give us an actual link like this: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4107676
Good god I hope we get him...
“Ain’t no doubt about that,” Foote told the Detroit Free Press. “I would love to come home. My family is here. I just bought a house here. It would be great. And just to answer critics: I’m not a veteran trying to come home and cash out on my hometown team. I’m a baller first. I wouldn’t sacrifice that for nothing.”
I will definitely lose some faith in Mayhew and Schwartz if they don’t sign this guy. He actually WANTS to be here, and to be a help to the team.
When was the last time
An established vet who was GOOD, wanted to be here? Other than the definition of classy, Hanson, there’s nobody
The main concern is that he played inside in a 3-4 defense
So he does not “fit the bill” as a 4-3 MLB…..to which I call BS. He played RILB for the Steelers and played in all 16 games for the past 6 years, winning 2 Superbowls. He could easily play MLB for the Lions, and he would be a big time upgrade over what we have. I hate to say this, but I will also seriously scratch my head if we do not sign him upon his release, if that happens after the Steelers minicamp.
