heres 500+ NFL fans that say CJ is tradeable
http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/messages/chrono/14183848/0/0/14185068#ID14185068
heres a site that 500+ people believe Calvin Johnson is tradeable..
They arent Lions fans..just TRUE NFL fans. its about 50/50 about trading him or not ..but if you can get a DT or LT and a descent WR ( 2 for 1) CJ would be gone instantly..WRs dont win games D-Lines and O-Lines do
with CJ Lions 5-11 with a trade Lions 7-9 this team NEEDS more pieces, 1 GREAT WR (CJ) isnt as good as adding 2-3 starters

this is the site were i got my K.Smith info about 1.8 yds on 1st down
so Sean you might want to “warn” this site about miss-info..
what other things do you think ive made -up?
the Zona wanting Foote? i dont believe ive said any “madeup” things
CBS sports gave me K.Smith stats
and Yahoo did have K.Smiths 8 game totals ( also) those were his starts
Really?
This is the page you went to: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/player/splits/2008/559743
It says right there that Kevin Smith’s average on first down is 3.4. And Yahoo does not have his game total at 8; it’s 16.

Oh, and here is what you first said about Larry Foote and Arizona:
“I heard Foote is mostly intrested in Arizona”
" Ken Wisenhunt ( Ex Steelers coach) plus 4 ex Steelers coaches on that staff
Wisenhunt runs the same defense as Steelers, they are more likely to have a good team..and 6 Steelers in the past 3 yrs have "migrated" there
Lions should just try to trade a 4th rounder for him ..he will be worth it"
http://www.prideofdetroit.com/2009/4/29/859660/george-foster-for-foote#15036658
That flat out says that Foote wants to go to Arizona, which was not true at all. The Cards had interest in signing him, but Foote never once wanted to go anywhere but Detroit.

ahh the POPE has spoken!
is that the sean you were talking about REV.???? and if that is I bow to your greatness, just don’t pass the plate too me I am too broke for homage Damn child support!!!!
i realize Sean you will probably ban me for this but this will make me 7 for 7 against you
http://steelcurtainrising.blogspot.com/2009/04/larry-foote-wants-out-careful-of-what.html
every time you try to cut me down i ,for some reason need to defend myself…
see Foote did want to go to Zona 1st .. then he saw Lions didnt draft a MLB, and he thought he could be every down Backer
7 for 7
WAY TOO MUCH bashing from ..NON-fans on this site ..
To funny when guys wouldnt trade CJ for Fitz and Boldin
yahoosports and CBS both have differnt ist down stats for K.Smith whos right, whos wrong ,
KSmiths will be a split back with Morris and Aaron and EVERY person on here will be praying for a running back next draft………………….
im not sure why i need to give up my sourses but if you want a REAL NFL PR guys blog i will send it to you ( cant send it to the masses ) he works for the Cowboys ( kinda funny i know)
Where do I even begin?
1. That link says nothing about the Cardinals. Way before the draft a friend of Foote’s said he wanted to finish his career in Detroit. So, no, he didn’t want to go to Arizona first. The draft had nothing to do with it.
2. 7 for 7? WTF are you talking about?
3. Yahoo’s and CBS’ stats are the same for Kevin Smith.
4. Aaron Brown will not split carries with anyone, let alone Kevin Smith.
5. What sources? You have spread complete crap on here.
6. I don’t know what is with the formatting or whatever, but please try to make your comment coherent so I can read it.

Ralph, read some actual statistics, then realize you’re a moron.
No where...
In the article you provided, did it mention that Foote wanted to go to Arizona….. IN FACT, the word ARIZONA, is not even mentioned.
WTF?
Who said they wouldn't take Fitz and Boldin for CJ?
As a matter of fact that is one of the only trades I said I WOULD take.
FIRE RALPH!!!
Oops…..for a minute there I got confused and thought that Millen was here posting away like a jackass……
Oh Yeah
Ralphgoblue, you made a post of about 20 players or so you would trade straight up for CJ which was a dumb list BTW but no one said trading CJ for multiple talent or a great player and high round draft picks would be dumb like you try to insinuate . For example, I’m sure everone in the NFL would rather have FItz and Boldin instead of CJ but if you trade for Fitz and Boldin which will never happen both teams take a salary cap hit and Detroit is then stuck with a WR contract of like $10 mil a year for Fitz and Boldin a guy who wants the same contract as Fitz and he would end up one and done with Detroit. So okay, I’ll massage your ego and tell you everyone in the whole league is tradable for the right price, but for the money and our situation CJ is invaluable because he is not yet expensive for his level of play because he still has his rookie contract. In case you haven’t noticed our team is in a building situation and we need all the value and talent we can get with the cap room we have so if we take unnecessary cap hits and trade off one talented guy with limitless potential for another and a draft pick or another couple of guys that are going to eat up our cap room we would be going backwards in the long run. So please stop with the dumb posts about trading CJ because it will not happen or benefit the Lions as much as you try to convince yourself and everyone else.

Ralph...
I have refrained from ripping on you (for the most part) because I felt that everyone else was doing a good enough job, but dude…
THERE IS NOTHING IN THAT ARTICLE ABOUT ARIZONA
GOOD LORD MAN!! AGAIN I SAY!!!

I have no clue
where you are coming up with this sh*t?!

what dream world are you in???
for 1 Zona or any franchise wouldn’t trade there 2 best players on 1 side of the ball for 1 man don’t care if it was the second coming of LT and I mean LAWRANCE TAYLOR you are really a fool to even mention something like that ralph. and if yu are having troube picking between the 2 dummy sites why don’t you try the NFL.COM there stats are the real deal Holy field!!!
ralph, Let me introduce you to reality.
Just because a bunch of us know nothing fans say a thing is so, does not make it so.
Is Calvin tradeable? Of course he is! Anyone can be traded if you don’t mind getting ripped off by taking less than he is worth or giving more than he is worth.
The point people are trying to make about NOT trading Calvin is that for years the Lions have been saying that they need playmakers on offence and defence. Calvin is a bona fide playmaker. In 2008 he was the most feared and double covered WR outside of [possibly] Larry Fitzgerald. He worked with three different QBs and mostly without any supporting WRs. He still led the league in TDs as a WR. And he is still learning how to be better.
Trading Calvin would be beyond foolish. It would be the ultimate in short term thinking. The 2010 draft will have some great candidates for Left Tackle or Defensive Tackle in the area, top eight I believe, that Detroit will pick. Just be patient.
Going 7-9 in 2009 [your fantasy claim] versus 5-11[if the Lions don’t trade him] is of absolutely no value. What is the difference between the two records? They are both losing records.
Will it make you feel better if we win seven games versus five? What will that accomplish for Detroit in the long run?
I know people are looking to stimulate discussion at a time when not a lot is going on in the NFL and with the Lions, but sinking into sheer stupidity and pointlessness does not do it for me.
I will put in a fanpost on a general issue that has nothing to do with the Lions in particular this weekend, but when I look at the current crop of posts and responses I really don’t expect much of an enlightening discussion. I hope to be proved wrong.
5-7 give us nothing
except a worse draft position. I’d keep Calvin and have a better draft selection in 2010.

Ralph
You are a troll.
Your posts are borderline unreadable due to structure and wierd use of spacing/punctuations.
You come across as an asshole.
And all your posts have the “I’m right, you’re wrong” attitude attached.
This is the last time I give you the time of day.
Have a good one.
And the second half of the Ralph's an idiot game begins?

Point! Set! Match!
Ahh Ralphy I too can understand you wanting to defend your point of view, but you don’t see me on here calling all of the rest of you guys fools just because I think that the lions have a ligit shot at winning the division this year, and yes it could happen, I’m going to assume that you read all of the posts on the lions page from all of the players, so with that said K Smith thinks they are a playoff team also, so does that mke us 2 right and all of you wrong? Rogers and the Pack are only 1 injury away from being bottom dwellers and don’t think it’s not possible; just ask the Pat’s how that worked out, And I don’t see any master coach in GB taking a QB that never played a down and winning 11 games there. The Lions will have a very good D-fence this year the talent that they have is better than any that I’ve seen in damn well 15-20 years, since we had White and Blades and crockette and speilman and such. Those D-fences were not that bad and we don’t have a bend but don’t break D-cord either. We will be bringing the heat this year and it is going to catch everyone off guard at the beginning of the season, so with me predicting a 4-2, 5-1 start to the year isn’t unthinkable but for all of us lifers’ it’s hard to fathom. And you are right to a point EVERYONE is tradeable even the great JOE MONTANA was traded before he was done but not in the prime of his career, TONY DORSETT ended up as a bronco for crying out loud and that must have made every cowgirl fan pull hair outta their heads, but again not in the beginning of their prime years. So please before all of us Jam pile on you, just give up the fight Cause YOU and 499 other fans;out of what 5 Zillion; that are not lions Fans that say Trade CALVIN just want to have him on your favorite team so you can say; look at the stupid lions look what they gave up for a nobody, ha hahah ha, not anymore. FORD JR. must have took my advise and put the old man on medication cause since the firing of MILLEN, the ship has seemed to be turned around and heading in the right direction. And with the mentioning of the nameless one I now have to go and vommit!!!! So keep on thinking that Calvin is tradable cause you and the other 499 are in a very small boat, with many holes letting water in FAST!
Short of a Herschel Walker type trade
Calvin Johnson is not tradable, expendable, or otherwise……PERIOD!
Of Course he's ""tradable"""
That doesn’t make it a good frickin idea.
Do you think the Cowgirls will trade Demarcus Ware? The Giants Justin TUck? The Vikings Adrian Peterson? The Colts Peyton Manning???
All are tradable…….If you really want to see what you can get , they are all tradeable.
Not only would the Lions not trade him, but many NFL teams, namely teh smart ones, will NOT trade for him cuz they value their picks and players too much.
What a dumb idea….
+1
Plus many NFL teams wouldn’t trade for him because of the contract he has.

Holy Crap Ralphie
ALL those people on the prestigious CBS.com website…!?
Well shit, if it’s on the internets, it’s got to be true. I’m a convert. Do you happen to run a church or anything?
Yeah....the 1 man church of Ralph
I am the non-self proclaimed Reverend Kdawg, and I could garner more followers than Captain Jackass…..So sayeth the Sheppaaaaaardaa!! So sayeth the FLOCK!
I almost feel bad for ralph taking all this abuse...
almost. Then I remember how much stupid shit he posts and I feel better.
Ralph, when you’ve even got Sean attacking you, it’s time to rein in the stupid.
AZ Yooper
you are quickly becoming part of my reading circle, Keep it up and we will put you in the church along with POPE sean and the REV kdawg I forgot who they said the CARDNAL was….. Maybe we could make you an honorary Chior Boy or something, hows your organ playing skills we need 1 of those still. LOL :)
Ha ha, thanks
I’m flattered…or maybe it’s frightened? I’m not sure. :) j/k
I don’t think I’m in the same league of posting as Sean or KDawg (I’m generally too lazy to write the kind of long, researched posts that they put up), but I appreciate the compliment.
You are not a dumbass
At least…..:o) I have a tendency to be long winded, especially when I am talking about something I love.
Sean is a far better poster than I
IMHO….Sean is the mack daddy of this blog, and I am just a secondary poster…..:o)
Well
Being that he and DrewsLions are the only “official” authors on this blog, that one kind of goes without saying. :)
The kind of man love displayed here
is both endearing and terrifying at the same time…
I hope that KDawg, Sean, and AZ don’t end up in a room with davis and some bud lite…
Ok....
I am merely stating the facts here Nate….lol. If it is manlove to believe that someone is a better poster than I am, or to be humble enough to say so, then I guess the bromance is on…..however, being truthful and saying what you believe is admirable in my opinion….:o)
BTW.....bromance is not GAY
Manlove is like a high five or a knucle bump…..not a low ball and a ugly bump…..get it right man!
Whoah whoah whoah
Did I grow a Hitler moustache alluva sudden….?
I am a fan of a sport which advocates smacking members of your own sex on their butts – I watch men grope all over each other all day. I don’t think I have any issues with homophobia, and I can certainly associate with comradery on a grand scale, however, terms that include the word romance and bro amalgamated with them, along with comparing people to Catholic church clergy (no offense Catholics) just kind of sells itself.
I’m just ‘telling it like it is’ as you put it. ;)
lol
It was a commercial once upon a time…..
My mom is catholic, and her Dad was catholic….but I am not. Besides, Catholics have “Priests” not Reverends…..
Catholics do have the Pope and Cardinals….but I was not associated with anything Catholic (thankfully)….lol I see your point, but let’s try not to take something innocent and fun and turn it into $2 prostitution night in Vegas…..which I would term as “terrifying”. Davis already said he prefers “Bud LIT” not light…..lol.
lmao again!
Why is it I have to be the one in the room with the Bud light, I just got MAD love for you guys.!!!!
ohh the tears guys the freekin tears
in my eyes let me know that at least you guys are thinking of me. Maybe not in that “SPECIAL” way but at least you are thinking of me!!!!
I feel
like some of you have me as the pivot man in a circle jerk. LOL. as long as we all know that it’s fun and games I’ve goot no problem cause I’m sure that everyone reading these are laughing as well.
If you think of Ralph as being Ralph on the Simpsons though...
then I kind of think he’s funny…Here are some quotes for comparison :
Ralph (To a wolf): Will you be my mommy? You smell like dead bunnies…
Bart Simpson (spelling “Impervious” in a spelling B): I…M…P
Nelson: Bart is pee!
Ralph Wiggum: I made Bart in my pants!
Ralph: That’s my swingset, and that’s my sandbox. I’m not allowed to go in the deep end. And this is where I met the leprechaun.
Bart: Right, the leprechaun.
Ralph: He told me to burn things.
If you bothered to read the link you posted
You would see 1 fan who wanted to trade CJ and 499+ people making fun of that guy.
I would accuse you of being that lone fan on the CBS site, but that guy had a firm command of the English language and used proper grammar. The upside is that there is someone out there you can bounce ideas off of.
Ralphie, what's going on?
There was a period there during the draft where you were making coherent arguments and comments. Then all of a sudden, it all goes downhill, and I mean down a mountain like Everest. You make claims which have no solid backups, you post links which are either fake or barely relevant. You even then start arguing with Sean who repeatedly shoots you down.
Ralph, I suggest you think before you post and do some research as well (proper research with proper links please).
2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).
Aww lets let up on Ralph
Without him and his batshit crazy arguments, we wouldn’t have anything to do until training camp.
LMAO!
This thread is too funny. I’m fairly new here, so I hadn’t seen many of Ralph’s posts. I can’t stop laughing.
Yooper, KDawg, and Sean… you guys DO rock. They’re right about that.

Thanks MG
But this isn’t my best thread…..lol. If you thought this was funny….read on my friend. :o)
Hey Ralphgoblue
You appeared to have gave up on defending you ridiculous idea that trading CJ would be good for the Lions. To put your proposal into a perspective I think you may understand let me use the Red Wings. Should they have given up Yzerman, Federov, Lidstrom, Fischer, Datsyuk, or Zetterberg in their second or third year because other teams were willing to give up multiple players of proven talent or high draft choices to get them? Keep in mind the Red Wings were in a very similar situation to the Lions when they got Yzerman or Federov and Lidstrom for that matter. Granted Fischer didn’t pan out for the long run but had he the team would be even better than they are now which is scary thought to the rest of the NHL. That’s beside the point though. The point is in any sport you don’t trade your young stars because they have a high value or because the team has a history of getting burned because you will never get burned every single time even though us as Lions fans may have a conditioning that makes us feel that way now. Building anything is a process.
