No surprise that he didn't end up in Detroit.

Yeah, no surprise he went to Cleveland
He’ll have many more opportunities to win a Super Bowl there. (heavy sarcasm intended)

wow
WTF is that guy thinking? He had a chance to come to Detroit, where we are on an obvious track for a big turnaround, and he goes to the Browns? sigh….we need to go after McCalister.

hmmm...
I’d be a little hesitant to say we’re on an obvious track for a big turnaround. hopeful track might be better. with the lions, nothing is obvious when it comes to winning.

I agree...
But the Browns? They seem to be just as worse, if not even worse than the Lions… Why not pick Chicago? They could easily be a contender next year.

I am not
Hesitant to say that we are on an obvious track for a BIG turnaround. The Lions are going to win a minimum of 5 games this year and they could potentially win 9 in my opinion. I’ve never seen you post here before Giggy, so I will leave it at that.

i post all the time
no need to get defensive, which i notice you do all the time. just paying my 2 cents. it isn’t obvious the lions are headed for a big turnaround. if anything was that obvious in any sport, things would be a lot easier. and it looks as if everyone else agrees with me (see above). so instead of trying to make yourself sound smart by picking on someone you say you’ve never seen post before, try stepping back and realize that you may actually be wrong. read people’s posts with an open mind, dude. you aren’t always right, no matter what your mom told you as a kid.
oh, and 9 games? i think you’ll find a lot of people on here who find that laughable.

Dude, Come on.
KDawg is one of the more intelligent contributors to this blog. He didn’t come across as defensive to me. When he does defend his comments, he backs it up. Your response was more defensive than what Mr. Dawg said. Lighten up. To say that the Lions have the “potential” to win 9 games is not laughable. Most of us would agree that the Lions have a history of not reaching potential, but stating what that potential is isn’t laughable. Also, remember to attack the argument, not the person, as our fearless leader, Sean reminds us all the time.
Also:
and it looks as if everyone else agrees with me (see above).Who above agreed with you? If you are going to comment more than 96 times in 9 1/2 months, please do so with more clarity. And I’ll leave it at that.

Thanks James
I was not being defensive in the least, nor was I “picking on” anyone. I was simply stating that I am not at all hesitant to say that I think the Lions are on an obvious track for a big turnaround. Did I quantify that statement with a time frame? No I did not. I think it could be a three year process, but I also think that they will vastly improve this year and that they will be better than the Browns now and in the near future. Giggy obviously can’t handle it when somebody opposes his/her viewpoint. I said I have not seen him/her post here before (because I have not), and said I would leave it at that because I felt that he/she obviously had not been a part of our prior discussions, and would not understand what I was talking about if I went into why I think they will win 5 games at a minimum and that they could possibly win 9. I find it “laughable” that he/she was so defensive in response to my post. I would like for him/her to point out where, in any of my posts on this thread, that I said I am the be all and end all of NFL football knowledge and that I am infallible. Of course I realize that I could be wrong. The only thing I was maybe a little strong on was saying that the Lions would win a minimum of 5 games this year. I used the word “potentially”, as you reiterated James, when I made my 9 game statement. I shouldn’t need to defend myself here…..but I will put “my two cents” out here and I will let “the flock” handle the rest. KDawg vs Giggy:

For someone who claims to “post here all the time”, he/she sure as hell has a funny way of doing it. I’ve been posting here for almost 3 months and I have 24 more posts and 1831 more comments……who posts here all the time? I do. When I said, “I will leave it at that” what I meant was if you want to know the reasoning behind my statements, go back to the archives and do some reading.

Number of posts doesn't warrant credibility
I wasn’t trying to be defensive in my response. I just thought the “so I’ll leave it at that” comment was an attack on me and my lack of posts. And that is a petty way to argue with someone. Unfortunately, I don’t get the opportunity to logon as much as some of the rest of you may. And when I do get the chance, I comment on what interests me.
I could care less how many times I’ve posted on the site, nor how many times someone else has. Quality, not quantity. All I was trying to say was that I didn’t agree with the Lions turning it around so easily. If that came off as defensive, I apologize. I was merely stating my thoughts. Wasn’t trying to attack anyone or discredit a user’s comments, I just felt I was belittled by someone just because he/she hasn’t happened to see me around before. The fact that I’m not around as much as some of you shouldn’t and doesn’t mean that my comments aren’t noteworthy. So if I offend you, KDawg, then I’m sorry. Maybe I took your comment out of context.

I think that you did
And I meant no ill intent in what I was posting in response to your comment. I respect the fact that you do not have as much time on your hands as I do…..that probably means you have a job, which I am unfortunate to not be able to find at this point. I was not making an argument Giggy….I was making a statement. I am a positive outlook kind of guy. I am as realistically optimistic as I can be. I too apologize if I came across as defensive or petty, as that was not my intent. My comment above pertaining to the amount of posts that you and I have had comparatively was in response to your statement that you “post here all the time” as a defense to my statement that I have not seen you post here before. Again, no argument is intended, but I am simply backing my statement that it is entirely possible that I have not personally seen you post here before. You are entitled to your opinion of the Lions, even if I feel that it is pessimistic or negative. I did not mean to belittle you or imply that your comment was not noteworthy. I do feel that you took my comment out of context, but I apologize if I offended you as well. I did not intend to make you feel insignificant. I am a person who will generally reiterate, add to, and support my comments with as much facts as I can find. I am not perfect, we are all human, and I make mistakes…..just like you. No hard feelings.

Don't apologize it's a sign of weakness

I think it takes a bigger man to admit when he is wrong
And unless you are a real DUMAS like someone else we know all to well around here, I am a pretty easy guy to get along with. I want to be treated well, so I try to treat others well. If I think I have said something that made someone else feel bad, I will generally apologize unless I am not wrong, in which case I can be just as much of an A-Hole as anyone. Weakness is only something that is perceived anyway. You may mistake my kindness for weakness, but if you do it will only make the element of surprise that much more effective.

Mccalister Would Be Great.....
…….Saw him play in college when my bro was going to Arizona…..he would be a great backup and teacher to these guys.

Shucks...
Would have liked to have had him. There are definitely some other corners available, and I think McCalister would be a good start.

Reynaldo Hill or Poole
At this point get someone who have played for Schwartz. Considering the WR corp that is in the NFC North. Henry should be fine against #2 WR’s. Hill or Poole could be there to help with the schemes for the other new CB’s.
