Printdoes it just occur to me or does everyone else think too that the detroit sports teams get screwed on ESPN
examples : they cover matthew stafford but never mention that he is a lion or how he could help our team or even fit in with other players ....or any other layers for that matter ......ALL WE GET AFTER THAT IS .... 0-16 ...0-16 ....0-16 ... THANKS ASSHOLES...swartzs is kicking ass and taking names on the roster , he has basically cleaned house and kept what few good pieces we had ...and got some pretty damn good deals in the process , and I must say I am impressed with our front office , it's nice to have a plan for a change .... if I hear one more brett farve story I'm going to vomit......
the tigers are in first place and you never see all the breakdowns , stats , crybaby drama and histroy lessons they give the yankees , red socks , dogers , and mets .....MAGGY CUT HIS HAIR AND DONATED IT TO CHARITY FOR CHRIST SAKES , WHAT YANKEE WOULD DO THAT ??? we just decimated the brewers and the cubs , WHERE IS THE PROPS ?????
during the NBA draft , when the pistons were on the clock , they cut to commercials and stayed there right up until we anncounced our pick ...every other team up to that point had a great breakdown of needs , wants , projected picks and some last season history .... WTF???
and all during the NHL finals , NBC was very pro-penguins , with star outputs , sidebar stories and production numbers ... all they said about the wings were , where are these missing stars during the cup push ???
what the f.........???
tell me if it's just me .... and that is just resent stuff , I could spend all day quoting more ........

It's the same almost every year for any pro draft
The Detroit teams never get the same coverage as the New York and other east and west coast teams.

Its been like that for years though. No respect for any teams from Michigan other than the Wolverines.
That’s why i hate it when any team from LA or NY wins anything, cause you NEVER hear the end of it.

…..And the Spurs won 3 titles in 5 years in the NBA and no one even mentioned them as a dynasry…..But LA won 2 in a row and they were….cant stand it

as long as its a big market they get coverage
The markets such as Boston, NewYork, LA, Miami, Dallas, Philly, Pittsburgh and Chicago get a lot of attention because of their massive populations. Then you see the respectable teams that are either in popular sports or are just good organizations. If that is what is important to you – you should be happy that the Red Wings are slightly involved in any media espn commercials.
I am sure fans in Toronto, Seattle, Minnesota, St Louis, Kansas City, Oakland and Arizona are over it by now. If you don’t care for ESPN’s opinions and selection do not watch the channel. There is always 97.1 and countless internet blogs that have just as consistent news.
Green Bay isn't getting much attention at all this offseason from what i have noticed
No one can deny Brett Favre’s career has been the focal point of Green Bay, even after he has left. Favre’s comeback from pain killers, records, and personality get him that attention. It is not often you hear that they are making the transition into a 3-4 defense or their other good players. Like I said, their are exceptions for respectable teams with notably exceptional “star” players.

I guess I never saw this before but reading all your examples I realized it is very, very true. I remember when they went to a commercial during the NBA Draft, I though that was kind of weird, and really kind of disrespectful. The Stanley Cup Finals example is very true also. I didn’t notice it at the time but every little story they did, did indeed seem to be on the Penguins. (Though I have to admit I didn’t mind, because the Pengs are my favorite team, probably not a good thing to mention in only my second post on this blog, but at least I’m telling the truth right? Haha)

Welcome to the pride first off and It’s nice to see you here sinc I’ve been chasing you around the WCG, The norsemen, and the Packing company for the last week or so. To all of the PRIDE I really like this guy so don’t Jam on him. If I had to compare him to anyone on our site I would say he reminds me of the REV, Seems like he’s very “even steven” so to say guys. I can’t really like you cause you are a PACKERS fan but you do seem alright to me, and me and Windycity72 have worked out our differences. lol

I hope you picked up on the little joke there about being a packers fan, but when your a fan of a basement dweller for about 8 years running I am a little Jealous. lol
I dont know...
about these packer fans. But whatever. Feel free to add your two cents. You seem alright. But, sorry no guarantees that once the season starts. That i wont " Jam" on you. : )

Michigan teams just don’t ever get any love from the Media period. Does anyone remember how bad the media was a couple of years ago when our T I double Ga RRRRRRRs were playing in the world series against the Cards? I know we lost and all but you would of thought that St. Louis was the only team playing the game, In terms of the Stanley cup THIS year, I heard more good things said this year than in any years past; at least Melrose and the other boobs were picking us to win. Can anyone explain to me HOW Manny Remirez’s first minor league game at bat’s should of been the first thing the Sports center showed? The CHEATING bum shouldn’t have even been able to play in a minor league game until his 50 game suspension was up and here we are getting him shoved down our throughts with 2 laddles. I just can’t even stand ESPN and the biasness that goes on thats why I get ALL of my sports news off the internet or sportstalk radio.
Living on the West Coast
you would think that the Big Ten was now the MAC. The radio sports updates rarely give. Big Ten scores. It is the Pac Ten, ACC, SEC, Big 12, and what whatever else they have time for. And speaking of the PAC-10. Has anyone notice how their top teams. Never play their " Big" non-conference game on road. When is the last time. You saw a PAC-10 team play on the road against the Big 10? I can’t remember. But, every year two or three Big 10 teams are playing on the west coast. It is the same crap in every sport.
Oh how can we forget!
And now that sportcenter is out there also. . . I just can’t get enough of my Kobie/ Manny is god from them. It really does make me sick to my stomache Bishop! And you are right if USC and the powers that be are so great why don’t they come east without a week off to prepare like it seems they always do.

Detroit never gets any respect in the media. Even when the Pistons won the ‘ship in ’04 all they talked about was the breakup of the marriage of Shaq and Kobe. It’s disgusting.
