1952 NFL Championship Game Film

As promised, I will be posting some of the historical items/memorabilia my grandfather, Garrard "Buster" Ramsey, Detroit Lions Defensive Coach 1952-1959, held onto from his career. We'll begin here with the 1952 World Championship game footage that my family converted from the old 16 millimeter reel to DVD and then finally to the web. The Lions won this game 17-7 over the Cleveland Browns. This footage is 30 minutes long, so I cut it up into 10 minute segments for ease of viewing. I hope y'all enjoy this glimpse of the Lions' past!!!

Game begins after the jump!

I still have no idea what is up with my media player. I’ve updated it and all I still see are white squares.
Very cool of you to share this stuff with us, dude. We appreciate it!

Thanks again!

Now that was a great defence. Otto Graham was one of the best QBs of all time, Motley was a Hall of Famer too. Still they held them to one TD.

That was the Lions identity then, great defence and just enough offence.

Great stuff

I’ve seen very few past Lions games so I thank you for this chance. Keep it coming.

2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).

That was great

Thank you Brian. That was the first time I have seen any of the Lion’s past Championship games. My friend jokes “It may be the only way we ever see them win a Championship in our lifetimes”.

Again, thank you very much for sharing this with us.

Cool stuff

I love the history you can find on the web. Now i have an awesome Lions game to go with the Nascar races i`ve got on my you tube account. Funny rule " only one offensive player my touch the ball " no touchdown Cleveland. Your granfather was the defensive coach from `52-`59. I hope you have some other films in the attic.

I do

I have some of both. Some more film should be up this afternoon, and some plays possibly later. I’ll continue doing this stuff for you guys until camp rolls around and it’s time to pay attention to the present.

Tennessee WILL beat Georgia on the way to 9+ wins in '09!!!

That is some cool sh*t

thanks for posting that VB, it’s good to see them winning even if it was over 40 years ago. Thanks again!
