NFL draft will expand to three days in 2010 - ESPN
This should make finals week interesting for me.

I like Goodell, but don't even try to lie and say it's about making the draft more accessible to fans
Moving it to a weeknight does anything but that. It’s about money. Plain and simple.

+1
It’s all about the money, no question.
In fact, this change probably makes it less accessible to hardcore fans (those of us who want to watch the whole draft). In the old format, we only had to block off two spots to catch the whole draft (Sat & Sun). Now, we have to block off three spots—two evenings plus Saturday midday.
Team With 1st pick .....
…..Can make a nice trade to start 2nd round and 4th round to pick up extra picks…..Usually teams like this year look for players that are stil on the board starting rd 3 and make a trade like detroit did this year to move down and pick u pa extra pick…..So now they can do to start round 2 and 4.

This is dumb

Unsure about this
Does allow us to talk a bit more about who’s coming up in round 2 and 3. We’ll see how it goes.

I took a poll on this back in April

I found it interesting to view the comments from a previous post not many people were in favor of the idea. click the link above to see the poll results

I wish they would have just moved the first round to Friday night
Have the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th on Saturday and the rest on Sunday. Would have been a better idea IMO.

I think the positive is that...
you don’t have to sit for a long marathon 12 hour session. The negative is obviously that we now have to stretch the process over three days. We’ll see how it works out. They’ve definitely turned this into a big event.
I definitely won't miss sitting at the computer for two straight days
But if I have a final on that Friday, it could be bad for the site or my grade.

You might have to delagate power to Drew or someone for that day
Unless you think you can handle both things at the same time.

Depending on what time of day the final is...
I could study in advance like a normal person, or stay up all night studying. Lol

This messes everything up for me
TCLion and I have a tradition of having a draft party every year, but with the draft starting in the primetime slot on Thursday night and going through Saturday, instead of just Saturday and Sunday, it may become difficult for us to get together. We have been doing the draft party every year for as long as I can remember.
