I picked Philly

Although, it’s very early on isn’t it.

2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).

by Hyperion Ecta on Jul 28, 2009 9:43 PM EDT reply actions

I voted New England

Brady will be back with a vengeance and on a serious mission. I hate New England, but always root for Brady.

by DrewsLions on Jul 28, 2009 9:44 PM EDT reply actions

Not anymore

Romo will probably be a “real” quarterback with his idiot girlfriend and I hate the Cowboys almost as much as the Packers, Bears and Vikings… almost.

But on a hotness scale… she’s still a 9.5… so yeah, I root for her.

Sorry, dolphinsinbuffalo

I’m sure you don’t like the Pats very much. But Brady’s the man and they are probably going to be the best team in the league this year.

by DrewsLions on Jul 29, 2009 8:30 AM EDT up reply actions

no

I really think that is close minded to think so. Not only is he coming off an injury, they did almost nothing to fix the aging o-line that got him hurt in the first place. Kansas City’s defense was awful and they were the team that ended his season.

by dolphinsinbuffalo on Jul 29, 2009 12:27 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah, but even without adding anything...

this is a team that went 27-5 over the last two seasons. With Brady last year, they probably would have gone to the Super Bowl again. Not trying to sound like a Pats fan here… because really I’m indifferent to what they do and how they perform But as a spectator and getting to watch a lot of their games, until they show me that they are no longer capable, they’ll be the team to beat.

Sorry, my friend, but I don’t see the Dolphins winning 11 games again this year. They might even struggle to have a winning record. That division is a tough one.

by DrewsLions on Jul 29, 2009 4:12 PM EDT up reply actions

yet they have improved their team

they won’t be the same team they were last year. They should be better. And the Giants proved in Super Bowl XLII that with a good defense the Pats get shut down. They sacked Brady how many times in that game? 4 or so. With Jason Taylor and Joey Porter there should be plenty of QB Pressure. Just watch and see how it turns out, mark my word: they will have a winning record and a good season. If not then make sure you tell me I was wrong.

If Brady stays healthy and is back to normal....

it is hard not to see the Pats making another run.

by KDawg on Jul 28, 2009 9:44 PM EDT reply actions

And 1

I know Joey Galloway isn’t the burner he once was about 15 yrs ago in Seat. But as a number 3# at best as your wr, and the golden boy brady back. IF they make it out of there conference no one can stop them. Notice I sad IF. Pitts has to be looked at, so does S.D. no to the Colts to much change in 1 year. No to Balt and Tenn, both are lacking on Offence. N.O. and Philly I think are the front runners so far in the NFC.

by davis0169 on Jul 28, 2009 11:19 PM EDT up reply actions

question

I can understand Philly, that would be my “favorite” to win the NFC, but why the Saints? Great offense, horrible defense. They didn’t really do much to improve on defense. If you wouldn’t mind explaining to me why you feel their a favorite, I would appreciate it!

by packallday555 on Jul 30, 2009 7:19 PM EDT up reply actions

what a silly question...

by myPride on Jul 28, 2009 10:42 PM EDT reply actions

no way with New England

it hurts me to see you guys say that. The guy is coming off an injury with a crappy and aging o-line. They’ve run their course. They are becoming overrated at this point. Everyone hands it to them and they didn’t even win the divison nor make the playoffs. And no one say it was because they didn’t have Brady, one man doesn’t make a team. There is still 53 guys.

by dolphinsinbuffalo on Jul 28, 2009 11:18 PM EDT reply actions

I don't know about that one!

A QB of that caliber, who the offence was desinged around, and you add more speed at the WR position. Going to be hard not too see them in there again. Let’s not forget about Marroni who should be healthy again. The D-fence got better also, It’s just not fair to Pitt’s fans because they just keep developing from inside and with the Pat’s it’s a sign-n-play situation. And to think that they added youth to the oldest position on their team. Going to be tough for everyone that play’s them.

by davis0169 on Jul 28, 2009 11:24 PM EDT up reply actions

I disagree

I think that everyone is giving them too much credit and the season hasn’t even begun. They basically kept their team the same and teams know how they play. they can adjust to that. I doubt they will win it all or even make it that far. It is thinking too much inside the box to assume they are what they were before. And even when they made it to the Super Bowl in ‘07 they didn’t win. they aren’t the future anymore. We should be expecting more from teams that are flying under the radar. Not just jumping on the Pats Bandwagon.

Damn you are everywhere tonight!

I’m having a blast over on the Norsemen. That little troll REVENGE4 FAVRE is eazy pickens. LMAO just typing some of that stuff. The hum-around chair was funny shit.

by davis0169 on Jul 29, 2009 12:19 AM EDT up reply actions

lol well

I have a strong disliking for Favre and the drama that comes with it. And little kids that think they are cool and have nothing real to argue with. Also I think the Pats are overrated during the offseason so I had to comment here. But I like it here unlike over at the Daily Norsemen where it is constantly a war.

I'd

like to know who were the crack heads that picked us to win it all? Seriously, pass whatever it is your smoking around to the rest of us. This is a process and we will be very competetive and be able to make a run in the next 2 years if we keep doing what we’re doing. I picked Philly. I love how they beefed up their Oline and some of the other moves they have made this offseason.

I like New Orleans

Definite bias here because New Orleans are my 2nd team behind Detroit, but I really like the way they beefed up their secondary, which was a huge problem last year. Sedrick Ellis will only get better, and Pierre Thomas is going to suprise alot of people. They may not win the Super Bowl, but they’ll make a good playoff run.

Ahh, people and their "second team" LOL

Mine is the Cardinals. And, yes, always has been, even when they sucked.

my 2nd team

is the Dolphins. i liked them right after the 2008 draft b/c they drafted both Henne and Long. then my playoff team is the Steelers b/c Troy Polamalu is a beast

by beef99 on Jul 29, 2009 1:34 PM EDT up reply actions

I like the Steelers too

They’re my “playoff team” when NO and Detroit both missed the playoffs, I adopted the Steelers. It turned out pretty well lol

I adopted the Saints

right after they drafted Reggie Bush, (this was when they sucked). I was a huge Reggie fan when he came out of college, and even though he never panned out, I still like the Saints and watch them whenver I can. But rest assured, opening day I’m hoping they lose horribly.

No second team here...

It’s the Lions and 31 “other” teams that I hate in a certain order.

by DrewsLions on Jul 29, 2009 4:13 PM EDT up reply actions

Same

Although, I tend to support the Colts when I watch them, unless they are up against the Lions, of course!

2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).

by Hyperion Ecta on Jul 29, 2009 8:14 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah, I like Peyton and I liked Dungy a lot

I guess for me, I support certain players. I always liked to watch Favre play (not against the Lions, of course), but I HATE the Packers. So I never root for another team unless it’s the playoffs… then it’s just about which of the two teams I hate less :)

by DrewsLions on Jul 29, 2009 8:33 PM EDT up reply actions

I find myself rooting for weird things for my fantasy teams

Like hoping they run the ball all the way to the 1 and throw an INT because I have the RB and the opposing team’s DEF.

When I am watching for fantasy football reasons, my wife can’t figure out what I want to happen.

I never understood the “second team” thing.

by ATL Lion on Jul 30, 2009 10:13 AM EDT up reply actions

steelers

the #1 defense in the NFL, and Big Ben at QB, you just can’t beat them in the playoffs

by beef99 on Jul 29, 2009 1:21 PM EDT reply actions

Not when your owner

Is paying off the officials under the table. Just kidding cause, being a product of the 70’s like I am. You were either a cowgirl fan or a Steeler fan, And I think you can figure out what team I liked. Lynn Swann was the most majestic rec, I still to this day, have ever seen.

Unless

Your team is the New England Patriots.

Ok

Who thought it would be funny to pick the Chiefs and Lions to win it all. I know we are all Lions fans in here but lets be realistic. And the CHIEFS? Really?

Lol someone voted for Oakland

Not alot of picks for Baltimore though, I actually really like them.

by detpistons3 on Jul 29, 2009 8:58 PM EDT reply actions

REALLY?

Both of there starting WR’s retired in the off-season and Baltimore just doesn’t put out quality WR’s in the first place. I feel for Flacko this year and what ever RB is in the backfield. he will see alot of 9 man fronts.

by davis0169 on Jul 29, 2009 10:18 PM EDT up reply actions

I meant

I like them as in I like their team, I don’t think much of their chances though.

NY Giants

I liked their draft this spring, and despite losing Plaxico and D. Ward, I think they’re a stronger team. I look for a big year from them.

by Brefstink on Jul 29, 2009 10:26 PM EDT reply actions

Gotta disagree

The loss of Plax last year killed the Giants. Expecting a rookie to come in and do the things Plax did for their team is unrealistic. I think they declined on offense losing Ward and Plax, but improve on defense with Osi coming back, and signing Bernard and Canty.

by packallday555 on Jul 30, 2009 7:23 PM EDT up reply actions

Now if we could

Knock that through the Vikes fans heads that a rookie WR isn’t going to do much. But hey we all think that our own team is unbeatable at this time of the year.

by davis0169 on Jul 30, 2009 10:14 PM EDT up reply actions

Haha seriously

Some of them talk about Harvin like he is the second coming. Yes, we all do have our biased opinions!
