The Lions have announced the signing of first-round pick Brandon Pettigrew.  Pettigrew's deal is for five years, and he becomes the final Lions rookie to sign a deal with the team.  That means that all rookies were able to report to Allen Park on time, and more importantly, all rookies will be in practice tomorrow.

Also announced was that the Lions have released linebacker Spenser Smith (rookie free agent out of Eastern Michigan).  Defensive end Eric Hicks, cornerback Antonio Smith, and defensive backs Tra Battle and James William were also released earlier this week.  It was never confirmed or announced by the team, but defensive end Rudolph Hardie and running back Antone Smith were also reportedly released earlier this week.  Neither are on the Lions' roster, so it appears they are not on the team.  It's just a bit strange that nothing was ever confirmed or announced.

I am relieved.

I was starting to imaging a world without Pettigrew in Detroit.

Excellent!

Way to go front office. Another small sign that things might be on the right track.

Good stuff

They’re all in, and now we can start thinking about Training camp. I’m so excited, even about practice.

Just isn't our same old lions anymore

I can’t say that I have always followed the lions during the offseason,as close as I have this year.Thank you Sean and SB LION nation for that. But can anyone remember the last time that all of our draft picks were signed before camp started?

Done deal Sean

I’ve been trying too end that, with R4F for 3 or 4 days now. The little boy just wont give it up. I go to the Norsenem he starts. I go to the WCG he follows me over there to starts, And now he’s trying to come over here and continue it. He’s just an obsessed fan of Favre that can’t get over the fact that he retired.

Exciting stuff

Glad to see that the Lion’s FO wasn’t messing around getting our picks signed. This signing makes it even more exciting to see the preseason.

happy all are in

But I am disappointed that Antone Smith was cut, all the local media that was able to watch him in OTA’s stated over and over how exciting he was. Why not dump Cason, he has had plenty of opportunity to prove himself as a member of the team.
