Should be interesting to watch
But when Millen jumps on there at the end and “evaluates” Rogers… oooohh (gritting teeth), I just can’t listen to the dude anymore. I’m gonna have to mute so much football this fall.

lol....what he said was true
Rogers was nothing more than average when he came back for his 3rd year, and he did look like a different guy. I think smoking marijuana was just what he got caught doing…..I’m betting it was far worse than pot and vicodin.

I guess...
But honestly, when was Charles Rogers above average? He was fast, sure, but even in his rookie year not even one of the fastest in the league.
A classic Millen reach, that he’s going to sit and blame marijuana on.
Man, I hate you Matt Millen.

I respectfully disagree with your analysis.

He was one of the most highly touted WRs in the draft that year!!
Charles Rogers was just like the big name WRs in this last draft. He was rated very high, and everyone thought that the Lions had drafted themselves a real burner. I agree with DetroitLions 4 life….Rogers was looking spectacular in his rookie year, until he was injured. He started 5 games in 2003 and had 22 catches for 243 yards and 3 TDs. If he had not gotten injured, and if he had carried on the same average for a full 16 games, his numbers would have been something like 70 catches, 769 yards, and 10 TDs.
In comparison, Calvin Johnson had 78 catches for 1331 yards and 12 TDs in his second year (starting all 16 games). In his rookie year he played in 15 games, starting 10, and had 48 catches for 756 yards and 4 TDs. Rogers was drafted to be a full time starter in Detroit, and everyone thought he had what it took to make an immediate impact. Imagine if he had never gotten injured or messed around with pot and prescription meds……
This was said about Charles Rogers, prior to the draft in 2002:
At the top of his game, an unstoppable force who is effective over the middle, down the field and in the red zone. Makes a lot of big and important plays and was productive last season even as the program around him was crumbling. Has a star’s mentality and plays to it. Needs to focus a bit more and concentrate on the finer details of his position but should be very productive right out of the gate.
And that is nothing compared to other things that people were saying. That came from Scout.com’s premium scouting report on Charles Rogers.

So I guess...
Mike Williams inhaled all of Rogers second hand smoke. Got the munchies. And could not stop eating cheeseburgers.

Weed
Has anyone ever proven weed does any damage? I’m not saying what your mom said but a real health study?
I think a loss of speed came from 2 years of not being in the game (and not training) in addition to nerve damage from prescription drugs. Pain meds are meant to kill the pain by limiting the amount of information the brain receptors receive. Unfortunately, that carries over to all information like running top speed and hand-eye coordination. People blame weed cuz they were told it was bad. Cigs do more damage, weed is only illegal for political purposes.

Its illegal BECAUSE
theres no test for it. like breathalyzers for alcohol. theres no way for a cop to know if you are tooooooooo high to drive. true story did a paper on it in college

Yet they can arrest you for driving under the influence of drugs,
take you to the closest hospital for a blood test, and do all of that on mere suspicion.

Legally, they need a warrent to draw blood. (At least in MI they do) I used to buy the BEST pot off of a cop and thats what he told me. Cops are crooked as hell, for every honest one, there’s 3 that are corrupt

Not if they have probable cause
One of my best friends is a State Police officer. He said they can search your vehicle, your person, and take your blood if they have probable cause to believe that you have committed a crime. Most often they make an arrest before they draw blood anyway. Once you are under arrest, they can do just about anything they want to do.
