LIONS WIN!!!

I just wanted to personally thank each and every player, coach, member of management, hell even the water boy!  Everyone connected with the Lions in any way.  This has been a long time coming for sure and today's victory was SO sweet!  We, as fans, have been the butt of jokes for so long and it feels like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I'm sure you all feel the same.  It was a hard fought game with a bunch of ups and downs and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.  I don't know if you guys noticed, but with Avril and Sims out, every starter on defense was playing elsewhere last year.  Crazy.  The day is finally here Lions fans.  Time to celebrate!!!  GO LIONS!!!!!!

It feels a little strange to celebrate a win

But we earned it. Like you said, we were the butt of endless jokes. Not that I think that will all of sudden cease, but at least they can’t bring up that infernal record any more.

2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).

YEAH!!!!

We did it! We broke the evil streak! We WON!!!!!! WOOHOOOOO!!!!!

Amazingly enough…..Stafford did not throw an INT and he completed 58% of his passes. I wish that he would do that (at a minimum) for the rest of the year!!! I wish I could shake his hand right now and say WELL DONE KID!!! YEAH BABY!!!!

Amazingly?

More like… Amazingly enough, the defense didn’t allow a last minute TD.

When I was at the game yesterday, you can tell that thought was in the back of everyones mind but amazingly there wasn’t that negative vibe in the air. The Lions fans there just seemed to know that we were gonna hang in there. It was intense but positive. The only “Lions are gonna blow it” remarks were from the many ’Skins fans in the section

It was shock

pure shock and denial. They thought this game was going to be a mulligan and an afterthought.
One drunk ‘Skins fan (the rest were really cool and congradulatory after the loss set in) was getting really pissed off over the cheering in the concourse. “Yous guys act like yous jus won da Sooooper bowl”. It was the same dude 3 rows up from me who brought up 0-19 about 30 times. He was traumatized, I hope he’s ok.

no doubt

what he doesn’t realize, is this was our superbowl. each of the last 7 or 8 games have been that way. maybe he’ll realize the feeling after the skins get comfy on their skid.

gawd i wish i could have seen the “full staff swagger” we only got a couple glimpses of it on tv…loved it…tongue out and all!

Go Lions!

It feels great to win! Not only did we break the streak, but it feels like we’re starting to finally change the culture of losing. There’s a new feeling of optimism here……coolaid-free optimism (no, really!). Meanwhile, based on reading some other SB Nation sites, 4-5 other teams’ fans think they are the worst team now. We’ll gladly pass the torch.

What? He can’t block a dead gopher? Humph, details.
