Around SBN: Miikka Kiprusoff Wins 300th Game, Buffalo Crushes Boston

1 curse down and one more to go!

First off FUCK YEAH, off the shnide, thank you for beating the skins Sunday since that team has owned us like a pimp owns a hooker. And I beleave I mentioned something about it prior to the game last week guys. I know some of you don't beleave in curses but I do. So now that Staff infection has gotten the gorilla off of our back with a win; and may I state that he didn't throw the "rookie" mistake int in that game. Now it's time to get a different gorilla off of our Lions backs, and I'm refering to going  on the road and getting a victory. Now i know we are playing in Chicago and I'm sure the boys and gals (honeybear if you are reading this) are licking their chops thinking about the lions coming to town. After all the smack I was talking about how they don't have a real rec on their team a couple of candidates have emerged in Chi town. I beleave that the Bears are not going to take this game lightly being that it is a divisional game but we have played very good at Soldier field in the past and expect our boys to do the same this weekend. I am giving our lions a 50/50 chance of winning this weekend since I have seen improvement every week in Staff. Assuming that we have K Smooth out there this weekend I think we can run against them and as long as Staff doesn't take a step backwards this week on the road we can win this game. My prediction for this game is going to be Lions 27  Da Bears 24. Lions are 500 after this week and are going to be pumped up for the hurtin Steelers the following week. I know it's only 1 win but we are going to be in the playoff chase soon guys. On a side note, and this is where it gets interesting; alot of you fools want to trade away SIMMS? what ???? Now since you are in the market to start shopping Lions away for draft picks, try this one out, Culpepper to the Browns since he is a better QB than both of the boobs that they have there, what do you all think about that?

On Trading Sims

Obviously I’m a huge Sims fan, and I think he’s one of the best players on our defense…

BUT Levy had a HELL of a game Sunday. I’m the kind of person who thinks anyone on your team should be tradeable given the right deal. And I’m not saying we should actively look for a trade for Sims, but if the right deal came along (1st rounder maybe a little more), I actually would consider it. The team obviously has a lot of holes, and right now I think our linebackers are playing amazing.

Agreed

If a team gave us a good price for Sims then I’d be happy to take it, but I don’t see it happening. Plus, I like Sims, he’s a top notch talent. Levy had a great game, but he needs to hold that form, like every other rookie, before I start thinking about naming him the permanent starter.

After seeing this picture

I couldn’t help but think maybe he could do Buckwheat in the spirit of those Eddie Murphy SNL skits. “Uhnce, tice, fee tines a mady.”

leave it to mayhew

to find the right suitor. he has been nothing short of magical when it comes to trades…kitna…williams…i’ll even throw in redding (although with an asterix as i think the jury is still out on who won that trade). would love to see cpepp go to the browns…they are desperate

+1

Mayhew may be a good GM after all, but lets wait to see a more long-term track record. I would keep CPep around – at least for this year. Get a bargain 3rd stringer (Bollinger, Feeley, etc.) after this season and keep developing Stanton.

I’m interested to see how Staff plays this weekend – his first game not in the comfort of a dome. I hope he limits the turnovers yet continues to push the ball to CJ. We really need K Smith for this game (well for every game quite frankly)

my hope is that he is more favre like than we may like to admit

i hope he throws better outdoors. my only worry is the conditions…a typical soldier field battle…wet, windy & cold.

Very true guys.

I just threw that Culpepper thing out there since alot of us (not me personnally) were talking about shopping him around after we named Staff infection as starter. And since the browns already have a lion or two on the roster and Culpepper wouldn’t have to move his home if he was traded to the Browns it almost makes sence.
