Good Read on Stafford

I hate Peter King. Always have. But this article is a good one, and gives a pretty cool inside look on the Detroit Lions. One thing that stood out in the column is how Schwartz took Stafford, Delmas and Pettigrew to an auto plant in Detroit so his rookies could understand the fan base they're playing for. Pretty cool stuff. Anyway, here's the iink:

Great Quote
Any qualms when he sees how quickly the Jets have put it together with fellow rookie QB Mark Sanchez?

“Never,’’ he said. “Maybe it’ll take longer here than it does for Mark in New York, but that’s OK. We’re going to get it done here.”

Stafford never fails to say the right thing in interviews, I love it.

More great quotes

Schwartz to Stafford: “Don’t you ever go conservative on me.”
(Sounds like the coach has a little swagger, too)

Schwartz on the pass to Heller on the final drive: "That’s the kind of play a mature quarterback makes — he knows when to take a smart chance.’’

I love it.

What? He can’t block a dead gopher? Humph, details.
