General Thoughts

- Stafford sounded strong. His connection with CJ is incredibly exciting and I thought he played very well, despite the pick.

- OL-line scares me. 2 big sacks. Since I can’t watch, I can’t say if the pressure is there constantly. Running game seems solid though.

-Cason made a play!!!!!!

- Run defence seems solid again, let’s hope that carries on to the reg season.

- 2 Defensive Turnover’s, a very good thing.

-Penalties still a problem.

2009 = The start of the Lions Golden Age (We hope).

Penalties and turnovers have been the main problems all preseason

The offensive line has looked decent….Backus gave up a sack, but that was the first by him this preseason. The other sack I think was on a blitz that we failed to pick up. I am pleasantly surprised with the offensive line, even though I still think we need a LT and a LG…..Loper will serve as a stop gap, but he will have to be replaced sooner than later in my opinion.

Coach said at halftime

He agrees our line looks great at run blocking but we’re not pass protecting like we need to.

WAtched first half on TV away from cpmputer

2 things about Stafford have now cinched it for me:

1) The way he fought for that fumble

2) The way he made that tackle after the int.

I knew he was a talented gunslinging monster and now I know he is a football player too.

Brown's first run was for 15 yards on the last drive

His next one was for 17. Still don’t know how long the pass to Jennings was.

The NFL.com Gamecenter

thinks there was a -27 yard play and Brown’s first big run was a pass. ?

Plays on this drive:

4 yard run
11 yard run
Run for no gain
Pass for 27 yards (receiver got behind the secondary after a pump fake)

But he broke a few tackles to gain a yard.

Ramzee Robinson has been great, for being picked where he was......

But he is a special teams player at best….I wouldn’t be overly upset if we cut him either.

Great job to knock the ball away and prevent a TD.

Once upon a time there was a young running back by the name of James Mungro

Who looked awesome in the preseason. Nobody thought he would be cut…..yet he was. He ended up in Indy and had at least one good year there. Not sure what happened to him.

Traffic and activity are two different things

I don’t think other teams get this active for the preseason, but POD is probably 10-15 for traffic.

Lucky to not get a penalty. It was not necessary at all.

Pride of Detroit, SB Nation's Lions Blog

by Sean Yuille on Sep 3, 2009 9:10 PM EDT reply actions

He started to jump

He was originally going to make a play on the ball, but since it was too high he pulled up…..I don’t think it was intentional at all. He might have threw a defensive shoulder, bracing for the colision, and he made it look like he did something special afterward, but in reality I think it was incidental contact.
