Lions Trade for a Safety: Ko Simpson from Buffalo

I just saw this on the Lions official site. Link:

http://www.detroitlions.com/document_display.cfm?document_id=489301

Simpson is 6'1" 202 pounds going into his fourth year. Here is his career data from NFL.com:

Looks like we may have our second starting safety here. Henry must not be ready and the other guys deemed not capable enough. Based on our secondary play so far who can argue?  Comments?

No, not really.

I thought they were hoping to move Henry to Safety. So I was thinking they are not confident enough in their option at the corner spot opposite Buchanon [who knows what he looks like?] and need to move Henry to corner or Henry is still not ready to play.

Who knows what I meant. I was in a rush because i thought about three other guys were going to post this story at the same time. I should have let Sean do it right.

lol

I was speculating….

I think they did want to move Henry to safety….but now that seems unlikely. I think, before they got Simpson, they were concerned if they moved Henry to safety that we did not have a viable option for the weak side corner. As far as I knew, Henry was penciled in as the starter opposite Buchanon at corner. So it stands to reason that they did not feel safe moving Henry to safety, with their backups not being on the same level as, or better than, Henry at CB.
