Marcus Howard from the colts
DE drafted in the 5th rd last year. He any good?
We didn't lose the games, we just ran out of time -- Bobby Layne
9 games last season
14 solo tackles, 5 asisted 1.5 sacks. Dunno could be worth a shot, he was only a rookie last season.

Off topic but
Why in the world is Greg Paulus playign QB at Syracuse?
We didn't lose the games, we just ran out of time -- Bobby Layne
He is looking really really good. he was the Gatorade Player of the Year in 2004 for Football.
Don’t be suprised is Sorry ass ’Cuse goes to a bowl with him.
its pretty amazing
http://cmufootball.blogspot.com/
Ohhh Man
Stafford is going to bust. Millen is on ESPN News and he was talking about Georgia “He doesn’t have to be Matthew Stafford, he just has to play ball” He said something good about Staff, he’s done now. :(

It didn't happen today....
But the Chiefs cut 9 year veteran Damion McIntosh (OT). McIntosh is going into his 10th season, and he started all 16 games last year. Wonder if he might be worth a look for depth. Would he be better than Salaam?
I thought so
I mean anybody that can do this is definitely worth a look.
We didn't lose the games, we just ran out of time -- Bobby Layne
Thanks
But every comment on youtube is saying “that’s the only thing he did good all season” so maybe he isn’t much of a player. Still for some depth, you can’t go wrong with a guy who was a starter last season, even if it was the Cheifs
We didn't lose the games, we just ran out of time -- Bobby Layne
Salaam is the king of penalties it seems like...
It’s worth a look
How awesome would it be if Navy upsets OSU?
We didn't lose the games, we just ran out of time -- Bobby Layne
Very awesome
I swear no undying allegiance to either MI school, but my hatred for OSU is rivaled only by my hate for the Dallas Cowgirls
Agreed
And now Navy is within 2 points! It can happen
We didn't lose the games, we just ran out of time -- Bobby Layne
Wow
Dobbs choked and through an interception and OSU returned it for 2 points. They need an onside recovery and then a TD
We didn't lose the games, we just ran out of time -- Bobby Layne
Dobbs choaked? HAHA..if it wasn't for him they wouldn't be in it..
Navy Vet, live in MD…I go to most Navy home games…And I hate Ohio St…I was almost pissing my pants over here…
http://cmufootball.blogspot.com/
That's true
But that was a bad pass, don’t get me wrong i was pulling for Navy, and Dobbs had an awesome game
We didn't lose the games, we just ran out of time -- Bobby Layne
We need a backup QB, don't we?
Between Stanton’s knee and Culpepper’s toe, we’re kinda thin at quarterback.
Anybody want to give thea former #3-overall pick a chance? Lot’s of upside there.
side note: what is the standard emoticon for sarcasm? :-]
Agreed

Other possibilities....
Now these may be real long shots, but it is possible that the Jags will cut Tra Thomas and Tony Pashos in favor of Eugene Monroe and Ebon Britton.
Thomas signed a three-year deal earlier this year with the Jaguars worth slightly more than $13 million. However, according to a league source, Thomas carries a cap number of just over $4.3 million. Just under half of that total is based on playing time incentives. And he also carries a $1.45 million base salary guarantee which is fully guaranteed for everything (skill/injury/cap), so the team has a tough decision to make. Do they pay Thomas $2.3 million (his base salary) to be a backup while guaranteeing part of that salary?
According to a league source, Pashos is signed through 2011 and carries a salary cap figure for this season of nearly $6 million. Should the team trade or cut Pashos, they would actually save roughly $1.3 million of cap space, but would take on roughly $3 million of additional dead money on their cap from acceleration of his bonus money left over from the final two years on his deal.
One other guy that could potentially be cut, that we might take a look at, is Ashton Youbouty, CB, Buffalo.
Hmm?
Is that pronounced Yo-booty, because if it is, I say sign him!!!
We didn't lose the games, we just ran out of time -- Bobby Layne
Eh
Not bad, but it would’ve been even better, give him a look because I will consider buying a Youbouty jersey
We didn't lose the games, we just ran out of time -- Bobby Layne
Just an FYI guys...
the Freep is reporting that Lion’s publisist Bill Keenist has stated that the official list of cuts will not be published by the team until after the 6pm league deadline tonight. So I guess we can keep the speculation going for a few more hours. I’ll have a new thread with the full list after it’s published.
Given that Mayhew just spent a draft pick on the guy
I predict that Ko Simpson makes the cut.
I know, going way out on a limb here :)
Official BYB Juju Consultant...now accepting rally creature applications!
Another CB to look at.....
Marcus Hamilton was (or will be, not sure) cut by the Bears…..he was second only to Ronde Barber in INTs at Virginia Tech.
No word on Hampton yet....
There have been preliminary cuts made in Pittsburgh, but nobody significant yet.
I take that back
One guy of interest has been released by the Steelers….CB Anthony Madison. He is an excellent special teams player and may be worth a look.
Is there a different deadline for some teams?
The Cardinals site said they had to have their roster cuts done by 3pm?
i'd imagine just front office preference to get done
and meet with the guys before the day goes too long.
doesnt' sound promising
i recognize the name…and by no means do i follow the cards…thought he was a rotational guy w/ impact on their line…huh…
Wierd.....
There is a Wilfrey Fontenot and an Alex Fields…..but no Alex Fontenot according to ESPN. Maybe I read something wrong…..
i can see his typo now
both field (de) & fontenot are listed side by side…nfl.com looks to make more sense w/ fontenot as cb
he sold out

I know off topic
I know that Aaron brown will make it on the roster, but its been awhile in Detroit even if its preseason for a LIONS runningback to run past really 10 yards in the past. What are the odds that Tristan Davis makes it to the practice squad
by Liontotheextreme on Sep 5, 2009 4:25 PM EDT reply actions
I seriously doubt he will make it to the practice squad if we waive him
I think we need to keep 4 RBs and Felton…..send Terrell Smith to the PS.
My bad....
I don’t think Terrell Smith can go to the practice squad…..they would be forced to release him or keep 2 FBs and 4 RBs…..
jets looking for te
three active on roster but one is also long snapper…
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/
imagine gronkowski drafted with stafford, looks great in preseason but plays with sanchez…
nor would i...but could you imagine him beside grady???
useless other than to take up a ton of space
yeah remember the Raiders draft and sign people with no logic
So maybe they release them that way too

lots of teams cutting qb's
jd booty is out in minny too…likely means jackson stays until a trade is made…too much invested to simply release
As a USC fan
I didn’t like to hear that, I hope a team gobbles him up. I still think a team that needs a “booty call” will do well with this guy.
We didn't lose the games, we just ran out of time -- Bobby Layne
I applaud the Lions for withholding all of their decisions until after 6pm
Another display of their disciplined adherence to the “gain an edge” philosophy….

And Deltha O’Neal is going into his 10th season…..he did have 3 INTs for NE last season, but he is now being cut by the Texans?

6'3 301lbs..2nd yr out of NC state
i remember there being buzz about him being drafted late…where’s kdawg when you need him. doesn’ t seem like he got much playing time…or if he deserved it i don’t know. just recall from my reading for the 08 draft
Saints Beat says he was injury prone coming out of college....
I’m not too sure about him…..out of NC State,
i knew if i called you'd come around
with the info…thanks!
do you recall … there was a buzz i believe about him slipping to the 5th round…projected 2-3 if i recall…
DeMario Pressley
His athleticism could sneak him into the third round, but he would have really needed to prove that his injuries are behind him and that he can get a lot stronger at the point of attack to go much higher than that. A team who needs some depth at defensive tackle and not much else could be willing to take a chance on him, but it is a risk. And since Pressley had nearly as much hype as fellow Wolfpack defensive lineman Mario Williams heading into their respective senior seasons, it is probably a risk worth taking for many teams.
A boom or bust guy coming out of college…..he had knee, wrist, elbow and foot injuries in college. He had a crappy Senior year because of injuries. He was drafted in round 5 by the Saints, and broke his foot in July during training camp. I don’t know man….his durability is a major concern. If he could stay healthy, he could be good if he can get stronger. Definitely not starting material at this point by any means.
lmao
I’ll “pray for you” now LL…..I definitely do not care for Notre Dame, being a Michigan fan….they rank right down there with the Butteyes.
i'm lucky
i’m from north of the border so i don’t have to pledge alegiance to any…dare i say i’ve also been entertained by florida st.? bobby bowden! crazy ol man!
Tony Pashos
6’6" 326 lbs……entering 7th season. 29 years old. Starter for both the Ravens in 2006 and the Jags in 07 and 08. University of Illinois product. He is very solid.
so what hes old they probably over paid

More bad moves by the Lions
Will this team ever figure it out. They are cutting talent on both sides of the ball and keeping players that can’t produce. Number 45 made more plays than anyone on the field and now he is gone. Looker is a possesion reciever who won’t drop the ball and he is gone. The Lions recievers are the worse in the league except for Calvin Johnson. But with him teams and focus on and probably get away with covering him with the whole defense and still prevent a score.
No. 45 is Jerome Felton
He’s still on the team.
