Lions need to claim Bernard Pollard.
he could starts opposite side of delmas

Biggest surprise: The decision to cut safety Bernard Pollard. He will likely be picked up on waivers elsewhere. It was reported that Pollard was being offered in a trade Friday.
my opinion~ hes quick young an hits has alot to learn, but better then any other safety we have and it would be nice to have him start next to delmas.

I think he could be a solid addition.....
However, he was cut by the Chiefs…..so maybe he is not very good. If we pick him up, then it will be because Gunther Cunningham likes him, like Dergru said below.

wrong - not true
The Chiefs probably have the most cap room available of any team right now. His being cut was a big surprise for most of us Chiefs fans. However, we think it’s mostly because he’s not very good in coverage even though he’s a big hitter. It still could be a mistake though.
Hopes fade once again from blue to red. Go New Chiefs!!

if we pick him up...
great, he worked with Gunther and looks to have potential. But if we pass it must mean that there is no potential and he deserved to be cut.

Listed at 6-1, 224 Lb
Is that too big? More importantly, does he have the speed/flexibility of a FS? More and more teams are going away from the “Traditional Strong Safety” (Roy Williams, Kenoy Kennedy, etc), and going with 2 hybrid safeties…..essentially 2 FS back there. Schwartz is part of this trend with his “Left Safety/Right Safety” setup. Extra size is ok, as long as the player still has the range, fluidity, and cover skills of a free safety…..that’s a prerequisite. So……does he have enough of all that to fit our system? Since Gunther worked with him, he’ll know. The defense Gunther has now is slightly different from his last defense in KC. If he fits the current system, absolutely, claim him. I’ll trust Gunther on this one.

It may be .....
……for Schwartz system…..Doesnt like big huge safties in his defense

just checked
Warpaint Illustrated.com says the chiefs expected him to step up this year and deliver the big hits they’ve been waiting for from him. They were planning on him playing a “traditional strong safety role” this year. A guy with a reputation for big hits who doesn’t actually deliver big hits? I sure hope he’s not another Kenoy Kennedy. I honestly don’t know. We’ll see what Gunther thinks.

Interesting
He could battle it out with Ko Simpson for the starting safety spot. Give him a shot, he has to be better than Marquand Manuel

-10
rather see 1-15 than pick a guy up in hopes he’s a dirty shite player. It’d take down my opin of Schwartzy too.

Pollard isn't a dirty player though
The Brady hit was truly an accident. Pollard got blocked into him.

Pollard’s nickname is Bonecrusher
Just look at the highlight film of his hits in college to see why
In KC he had 199 tackles, 5 FFs and 3 Ints
He is also a great punt block specialist
Led KC in tackles last year
He can also dance, if you saw his Hard Knocks footage
Only 24
High 2nd round draft pick
Pollard will be a great and cheap addition for some team

Here is my post on 53-man roste cuts
Roberson looked good!
Mr irrelevant gone is sad. I like Roberson why is on the PUP? Why don’t we go out and get Bernard Pollard at Safety and get rid of Pearson?
