Langston Walker available
Just want to hear everyone's thoughts on this: The Bills just released their starting LT, Langston Walker:

Any chance the Lions take a look? Surely he's better than Sack-us or whatever other punny name you can come up with for him. IMO, he'd be a huge upgrade over anyone we have at the left tackle position on the team. O-Line is something most of us wish the Lions addressed more this offseason, and with only a few days left until kickoff of the regular season, I think this is an upgrade we need. I know he hasn't worked with the team all year, and there's no way he could come in right off the bat to start, but down the road he may be worth it.
What do my fellow Lions think?

He is not a LT...he might be listed as one, but he can't play it...
He is a decent RT. There is a huge difference when you consider the RT often has a TE helping or atleast chipping..
I wouldn’t be opposed to picking him up, but he is no more than a Gosder clone…he can play right, not left.

The Bills O-Line sucks worse than the Lions
seriously, it is. Backus is better than this guy, as is the Lions back-up OTs.
New scheme, new coaching staff. I’ll bet a 12-pack of smooth, delicious, crisp, ice-cold Molson XXX right now that the sacks will be down at least 1/3 of what they’ve been the past couple of years.
It's all because of the scheme
Linehan did an admirable job of using a new scheme to cover up deficiencies in talent. I can now say gulp I am happy with our O-Line as it stands. Although I still believe we need to invest draft picks on both of our lines in the near future. A speedy edge rusher will really help our secondary and a run stuffing DT who’s not 40 will help anchor our D-Line and draw double teams which will mean our 3 linebackers will have no problem cleaning up run plays.
We didn't lose the games, we just ran out of time -- Bobby Layne
Sounds good to me

ive been saying all along
that our OL problems have had more to do with our aweful coaching in the past few years the guys we have. Im not saying we have the best talent but as we have noticed in the preseason they are playing better because our OC and OL coach actually have a clue…
So in regards to this guy, I am not conviced that he would actually be an upgrade, is he younger with more potential or has he capped already. to me if we are going to start up grading our OL we need to go with younger guys with more upside, replacing one 30+ for another 30+ of roughly equal talent (at least close) doesnt make sense.
Another thing, we finally have coaches that will adjust if something isnt working.. etc, if we areokaying a team with a premier DE that is killing backus (not everyone has an ass kicker of a DE) I have faith that our OC and Coach will recognizr this and adjust, they arent stubborn like our past coaches.
"If your not with us...
you're with the terrorists!!"
oh man rough day for spelling
areokaying = are playing
recognizr – recognize
"If your not with us...
you're with the terrorists!!"
+100 About the Bills O line.
The Bills have some serious O line issues and letting Walker go now means their problems just got worse. The guy they want to play LT, Demetrius Bell, is not practicing right now due to some back problems.
I find it hard to believe Walker is worth anything as an LT or they would keep him.
He's a big fat lineman! Sign him up!
366 pounds! He can’t miss!
What? He can’t block a dead gopher? Humph, details.
Maybe Aaron Gibson is still available, too.
ROFLMAO!
