So With No Cap Next Year.....
......im assuming but dont know for sure that there will be no cap penalties for releasing players.....So that being said there will be some overpaid guys being cut since the team would get no penalties.....So my question to you guys out there is are there any Lions that will get cut loose to save money?.....the only guy I can really think of is maybe Dewayne White.....Remember i dont know if this no cap penalties talk is true just saying if it is who will Detroit cut loose to save money?

I haven't really looked in to it...
I’m sure someone is more savy when it comes to the finsnaces of the team.

tough one
but bottom line is right now depth is more important if we have to over pay a few guys because we can’t find anyone to upgrade that spot its worth It dewayne white isn’t bad but he isn’t really the starter anymore BUT on the same line if we can’t get a kampan peppers or any huge upgrade its not worth releasing him

White and Buchanon...
Buchanon can’t tackle for shit. Can we at least get a CB that will stand in the way? Joe Haden will. LOL
I disagee
Phillips always been a good CB he hasn’t really gotte a fair shot in detroit and with the lack of d line pressure non of the corners reall have kepp buchanon he was a great nickle in tampa he came to detroit because he was offered a chance to start but he will always be a good 2 or 3 option and they won’t let him do KR which he was always great at

Hey guys.....
A poster over on the Buffalo site created a post that explains the ramifications of an uncapped 2010 season…..I think he did a decent job explaining cap hits. Here’s the link:

Good summary
The only factor for the Lions would be remaining salary bonus allocation beyond 2010. Dewayne White had a $10 million bonus in 2007, he is as good as gone. Aside from him we are in good shape. Although Peterson is due to make $7.5 million, he has no bonus to allocate. He will have to renegotiate before 2011 to stay around though.

I believe a quote from Schwartz sums it up...
not exact quote… but; ’ Last year we had around 15 FAs making 1-2 million/yr…. next year, that # should be around 4-5.’
If guys don’t restructure, they’ll just get cut. A guy like Dewayne White, would be smart to restructure. I like him… when he plays… and believe he’s one of the handful of talented guys on our team. He just seems to make plays….
again, when he plays.
