PrintJust an fyi, Bobby April and the rest of the Buffalo Bill staff was let go today.
As you are well aware, Bobby April is the best special teams coach in the NFL and we could use his skills, knowledge, and most importantly, his enthusiasm in running our special teams.
I submit that you should IMMEDIATELY present Stan with career change options and get Bobby April to Ford Field today!
If you don't he will be on Mike Shanahan's staff by Wednesday. And Washington is on our schedule again next year, so let's make sure the early bird gets the worm.
Please let me know when this has been done, so that we can get on with pre-draft preparation later this afternoon.

Doesn’t even matter if Stan Kwan happened to be average, Bobby April is a top special teams coach and would be an upgrade. I’m afraid we’re going to have a lot of competition on this one.
Doesn’t hurt at all that Bobby’s a heck of a good guy as well.

Anyone is an improvement of Kwan that’s for sure. I think it all comes down to finding, once and for all, a good return man (a la Eddie Drummond or Mel Gray) and keeping him in town. Certainly Derrick Williams and Dennis Northcutt and even Aaron Brown are not the answer.

I hate to say it
But our special teams play has been pretty good the last two games. We are constantly threatening to block punts and kicks (and did in the SF game), we stopped Chicago a couple of times for kick returns of 10-15 yards.
I am not saying keep Kwan around if a better option is out there, but I did see a vast improvement in the last couple games.

I live in South Florida, but have family in Michigan. I have been watching the games on the Sunday Ticket this year though.
Last weekend, I wished that there was an iPhone app for POD so that I could connect with my team (that’s you guys).

I can get 40 yard line-lower level…a few years ago I couldn’t get any seats out of the end zone.
Once we bust through, the great seat availability will be over forever (hopefully). Five years ago, the Saints had seats available everywhere for season tix, and now there is reportedly a 50,000 person wait list.

I’m sure we could put something together. Probably would have to wait for the schedule to come out, but SBN has a person to put these types of events together.

We should gauge interest before the schedule comes out, then have a poll of 2 dates/games for those POD’sters that can come to choose from, and then we can secure a block thorugh your contacts.

I am somewhat new to the site, so I dont really know anybody but I’d be there.This guy footstock is a clown he would have us laughing the whole time.

There are a million people on this site funnier than I am…we can count on CLF, 32, Drew, N4, GRLion, NYC, Latif, etc to keep us laughing.
I was a bit in rare form today. I think it’s because I have been a member for just over a month, and every post now seems like GroundHog Day (same stuff recycles itself week after week…like deja vu)

Cost is always an issue especially today, and the lower the cost the more POD’sters we can get to come to the event.

The optimism is refreshing
Been going to games and watching them (until the recent blackouts) for quite awhile, but I really feel like 2010/11 are going to be formative, ground-gaining seasons for the Lions. Glad to see some other people giving Schwartz & the few bright spots on the roster a fighting chance.

Detroit plays Buffalo @ Buffalo this year
that should be a good competitive game for us,(should also be a win) sure would be nice to go to a game and see us win. Since i am from Erie,P.A. I will probably go to the game anyways,but it would be fun to have all us POD’ers in one section. JUST A SUGGESTION.

I have never had more fun at a game than watching the Chiefs in Arrowhead!
I never thought I would see the day when a pro game felt like a college game. I don’t think anyone sat down the entire game. Organized chants and cheers in a sea of red…it was great!
