Lions Sign Vinny Ciurciu, Place Spencer Havner On Waived-Injured List
With depth at middle linebacker extremely thin because of injuries, the Lions decided to bring back Vinny Ciurciu. He was let go in the final round of roster cuts, but the Lions re-signed him on Thursday to shore up the depth at the middle linebacker position.
To make room for Ciurciu, the Lions placed Spencer Havner, who suffered a hamstring injury during the Rams game, on the waived-injured list.
The Lions are in dire shape at the middle linebacker position because DeAndre Levy hasn't even been able to practice in a couple weeks and because Landon Johnson, Levy's backup, has missed practice this week due to a concussion. Levy has played only once this season and is again doubtful this week. Johnson needs to pass a series of concussion tests in order to play, so right now his status looks to be doubtful as well. With only Isaiah Ekejiuba and Ashlee Palmer available at MLB, the Lions made the move to sign Ciurciu, who got a lot of playing time in the preseason when Levy was hurt (and after Jordon Dizon went down).

Caleb is on the practice squad
He saw looks in the preseason at MLB and OLB and I really liked what I saw. I don’t know why the heck they don’t have this guy playing, I actually get angry over this one.

Here is a wild thought....he is not ready to play in the NFL.......yet.
Come on man, have a little faith in the judgement of the guys who are seeing him everyday at practices;Schwartz, Gunther, Crossman, Burke, etc. If they thought he could contribute, he would be in there.
Also, if he had such great tape from the preseason he would have been signed by another team by now.
I think he would be signed by someone else if he didn't have the complications from his army service

No because he is all set to be a recruiter here
He would have to go through stuff and adjust to another city picking him up, I am not sure the Army would be cooperative of him. He is assigned to a reserve unit here as well. So he would have to get reassigned and that might take time. It is not like a team could just pick him up, and put him on a plane and have him start that week. While he has managed to make things work for himself here I am not sure he could do the same elsewhere.

Larry is not doing much with the Steelers....
…eight tackles in four games. Maybe they would give him back? Just kidding.
Hes not starting anymore is he?
More of a situational type player/rotational guy now right?
Have not gotten to watch much of the Pitt lately.
Lions fans deserve better than being the laughing stock of the NFL. Lets all hope they are heading in the right direction finally.
From what I know, shich is not much, last I heard he was their top bench guy

Geez, I don't trust Vinny much
That TD he let in against the Browns keeps running through my mind.
