Linehan's playcalling over the season

In the Giants game recap thread, one of the NY posters gave props to Linehan and the way he called the game against the Lions, saying Linehan kept them in it despite having a 3rd-string QB at the helm. On the flip side, he's gotten a lot of flak on here (and from Lions fans in general) about the way in which he hasn't been fully utilizing all of the weapons we have on offense. This was particularly true over the first couple of games.

In your guys' opinion, has he been opening up the offense a bit more as he's gained confidence in Hill behind center? He seemed to put enough trust in Stanton once he got out there, which might not have been the case earlier in the season...

Also, since I haven't seen this mentioned too much on the board, how big of an Achilles' heel was the Detroit linebacker corps this game? It seemed like there was very little effective tackling at the second level against the run, and at times they were getting picked apart by the passing game (when Wade wasn't out there in nickel/dime sets with a giant target on his back). I think Palmer might have led the team in tackles this game, but that's more a function of the way the Giants keyed in on the middle of the field in my mind. It's hard to fault them too much considering how banged up they are (and with Follett going down), but I think other teams are going to recognize this and start trying to exploit them even more. What kind of adjustments can be made, if any?
