Best and Smith.. second half studs?

Currently the Lions are 31st in the league in rushing, not surprising considering injuries to both k-smooth and best. First of all, does anybody know Smith's injury status? I know hes played in a couple games this year without any production, but in the beginning of the season it seemed like he'd be back at 100% by now. I think if both best and smith come back healthy after the bye, they can be a two-headed monster if Linehan can run some intelligent plays to get them in the open field. Anyways, where does everybody think the Lions will end up in rushing at season's end, and what changes (if any) are needed to the Lions backfield?
