As expected, the Lions have brought back safety Randy Phillips by signing him to the practice squad.
Phillips was released last week in order to make room for Dante Wesley to be re-signed. Although Phillips played well in the preseason, apparently the coaches weren't all that impressed with how he was doing in the regular season. As a result, he was released, but the intent was to bring him back if he cleared waivers. Thankfully he did in fact clear the waiver wire, so the Lions were able to sign him to the practice squad.
To make room on the practice squad for Phillips, the Lions released center Cody Wallace.
