Shaun Hill Starting Again For Lions; Nate Burleson May Play

Stay connected for news and updates

Matthew Stafford's return to the Lions' starting lineup will have to wait until next Sunday against the Giants at the earliest, because Shaun Hill is once again going to start at quarterback for the Lions.

At this point, it appears Stafford's return will have to wait until after the bye week. Hill has been getting better and better as the starter for Detroit, and why bring Stafford back for one game when the bye is right after the Lions' visit to New York? I'd rather just sit him until the Lions host the Redskins on Halloween. (I will have more on his injury later.)

In other injury news, Nate Burleson returned to practice today and said he will play this week against St. Louis. That would be excellent news for the Lions' offense, which has been missing the added threat Burleson brings to the wide receiver position.

Jahvid Best and Louis Delmas, like Burleson, practiced today. Tony Scheffler, Sammie Hill, DeAndre Levy and C.C. Brown, on the other hand, were out.
