Tim Toone Placed On Injured Reserve; Other Injury News
Wide receiver Tim Toone, who was the final pick of the 2010 NFL Draft, has been placed on injured reserve by the Lions. I don't believe his injury has been made public yet, but his season is over.
Replacing Toone on the practice squad is wide receiver Alric Arnett. He was an undrafted free agent out of West Virginia who originally signed with the Colts.
In other injury news, the Lions were once again without Tony Scheffler and DeAndre Levy at practice today. Levy is dealing with an ankle injury, whereas Scheffler is recovering from a concussion he suffered against Green Bay.
The good news from today's practice is that C.C. Brown and Sammie Hill returned, joining Louis Delmas, Jahvid Best and Nate Burleson, who all practiced for the second straight day this week.
UPDATE: Chris McCosky is now reporting that Brown did not practice after all.

Toone on IR. That sux for his development.
Lions fans deserve better than being the laughing stock of the NFL. Lets all hope they are heading in the right direction finally.
We really need Hill in this game.
His massive hole plugging body, get your minds outta the gutter you heathens, is a must against the Rams running game.

Bummer for Toone, that will be hard for him to overcome and his chances of ever being a starter in the NFL just went down by a lot.

Far be it from me for being happy a guy is hurt
At this point if it keeps C.C out of the game I am ok with that to say the least.
GET WELL SOON MATT! We need ya man
Me fail english thats umpossible
I am not sold on Phillips, he was part of giving up two 50+ yard touchdowns against the Eagles
One against DeSean Jackson, another against Shady McCoy. I think he got his audition there and fell on his face miserably. The fact that there are teams out there with a desperate need at safety, like the Colts and Green Bay, and that he cleared waivers pretty much says that he is not thought of very highly in other NFL cities either.

lions by 3 ????
current line has lions favored by 3 points ?? when was the last time an 0-4 team was favored over a 2-2 team ….home field advantage is always worth 3 points it has been said , but really ? this may just piss st.louis off enough to try harder
first game - aug. 1970 = hooked ever since = GO LIONS!!
I'm glad
we didn’t get revis now , but can’t we pull a mayhew and get some better starters from someone ?
can’t cover brown and dim-wit wade are the best we can do ?
god help us if we can’t rush every down

?
How do you get on the IR from the practice squad??
How are we losing guys on a thursday?
What are they doing in practice that they arent doing in the game?
I dont understand the CC dislike.
He has played well except for a few plays. His coverage has been ok and his hitting has been impressive. He is not the worst starter that belongs to Follett. I think Brown is doing a very good job along side Delmas. GO LIONS!!!!

Some of it I think people do not realize, namely the Eagles game, was actually Phillips in there and not C. C.

Sammie Hill
I’m a diehard Colts fan (yes I suffered through the lean years) but I like the Lions and have been trying to keep up with them as much as I can.
I’ve got a questiong for you guys who get to watch Hill every week. I’ve heard some good things about his play and I was wondering what your take on him was. Is he developing into a very good regular and how does his skillset mix with the monster playing next to him?
Jason Heyward wins at baseball.
Hill
has proved to be an excellent pick and frankly a real steal. He was forced to learn on the fly last year and it has payed off this year. His space eating presence and surprising push into the backfield has been impressive. He, like others on the D Line, have benefited from the talent infusion along said line. To his credit, he has fully taken advantage of this fact.
His presence was missed last week in the rotation and during the clock eating old fashion run the ball drive that killed Detroit’s chances of a win last week against GB. He is valuable in the rotation and has shown he has a defined place on this team and he fills that role extremely well.

I have to say Josh pretty much nailed that
Even last year when we did not have KVB, Suh, and WIlliams, not to mention that Avril was a one trick pony, even then he was a bright spot. He did not get as much penetration as needed last year to be effective in the pass rush but he was a stout run defender. This year he has stepped it up and seems to help in pushing the pocket as well as being not only stout, but being a monster in stopping the run.
I find it utterly amazing that people critique our draft selections when we had a 5th round pick starting last year and we have a 6th round pick this year that looks like a real gem in Willie Young.

You and Josh are right on...
One small correction:
Sammie=4th round, and Willie=7th round
Both are a steal and will provide real long term value to this team.
I have been 100% Millen free for 2 years!
I thought that year it was
1. Stafford
1. Pettigrew
2. Delmas
3. Levy
4. Derrick Williams
5. SLH
6. Aaron Brown

You are right about Willie Young though, was the first pick of two in the 7th round

ANd upon further review correct on SLH too, again we had two third round picks that year, good catch
