Moss WAIVED?..WTF

Apperently Chilly and company was not fond of Randys latest press confrence or his latest performance or the fact that he basicly gave billicheat a reach around after the game. According to NFL networks Michael Lombardi the Minnesota vikings have just Waived reciver #84 Randy Moss. I won't say replace BJ but I will say maybe think about it for just a second. He's on Waivers not trade block. His new attitude is not great he is obviously still a pat at heart but Moss is now a Free Agent what other choice does he have but to play for any offer he gets. This is pretty insane he wasn't in purple fo even a month.

Why the fuck not?

Because he would be a cancer on this team...

Look, Randy wants to only play for playoff bound team. This dude is not in a happy place in his life at the moment, and coming to Detroit would make it even worse for him.

We finally have a really good bunch of younger players, and we don’t need this crap on this team, at this time.

No way in hell, Mr. Mayhew makes this move.

well there is no way the rams dont pick him up

If they dont pick him up the lions better take him even for a year just to trade him
the vikings have to pay his salary this year we might as well pick him up

Are the waivers still based on last years rankings?

Or are we into current win %?

Because the Rams are so needy for WRs they asked me to work out for them.

Minnesota might as well pack it up and forfeit the rest of the games

Trade a pick for the guy (4th or 5th I forget) and then waive him? And its Moss, for christ’s sake. They have totally lost control over there. Almost as bad as the cowboys.

I say bring him in for an interview. If you think he has his head on straight, put him on the team and make sure BJ doesn’t steal his bags. Otherwise, waive him as well.

Thinking about it, there is no way he makes it to us on the waiver wire.

Screw Minny...

…it sounds like he was pissed because he tried to give Minny insight about New England. Don’t think a free pro-bowl WR with insight on your lone Nationally Televised opponent wouldn’t be an asset to Schwartz and company. Plus, Moss would get another crack at New England and would get a chance to show up Minnesota at the end of the year. This actually sounds better and better to me.

I really do, so I say yes. Adding Moss would create so much trouble for DCs that its almost to good to be true. Linny called 45 passing plays last week, Staff blew the dust off, and keeping passes coming Mosses way and some wins should keep him in line for the rest of the season.

I told everyone all I wanted was wins. This last game was something special. Stafford struggled and the D kept us in the game. Staff clearly got more comfortable in the second half and unlike years past the D kept coming. The offensive line did a great job protecting our first half struggling QB and even opened a few holes. Special teams were less than we have become accustomed to these last few games but their returner is nasty. Logan did his job and shortened the field. Hell, I will even give Schwartz some credit. Letting his QB and Best offensive player do their thing on 4th and 1, trusting them to get the job done. Something I bitched about earlier in the season about him.

Washington is not as bad as Detroit made them look Sunday. When I was watching this game I saw our two lines dominating their two lines. This is something I have been dreaming of for a long time. I know we can be better but that was fun to watch.

After the game, they went over and jusy h-a-m-m-e-r-e-d them. Non-stop and relentlessly. They kept saying, either “congrats, now please leave” or “fuck you assholes, get the fuck off of our site”. Either of those replies were just and called for based on what our guys were doing.

FINALLY, after dusting them into smithereens, one of them made the comment something like “fuck you, since you guys are being such a-holes, I hope that Stafford and CJ suffer career ending injuries”. That was called for too IMO.

Our guys were unmerciful and way over the top. It was not cool. Period.

Seeing some of the pieces start to fall into place this season makes me wonder whether or not a famously rumored locker room cancer like Moss would be worth bringing in. That being said, I couldn’t agree with Sean more. Teaming back up with Linehan, tossing BJ in the trash behind Ford Field, and personally….I’ve always liked Randy Moss….locker room cancer or not he always makes for good press.

Plus, it’s only a one season deal anyway…he’s gone next year and we won’t have to watch Bryant Johnson drop any more passes between the numbers.

by Doc Scratch on Nov 1, 2010 6:22 PM EDT up reply actions

I agree that chemistry should be considered....

…but I don’t think Moss upsets the team chemistry in this situation. The leaders that are establishing themselves on this team wouldn’t allow it, and furthermore I think Moss plays pretty motivated in a Lions uniform. A motivated Randy Moss is still every bit the threat that our beloved Calvin Johnson is. He already knows the offense, or would require very little coaching to pick up the system. Teams would NOT be able to double cover Calvin every single play, well they could, but then Moss would have a field day on the opponents #2 cornerbacks. Double them both and Nate Burleson is being covered by linebackers. Change packages and you’ve got D-Linemen lining up to cover Pettigrew and Scheffler. The nightmares that Linehan could inflict on opposing D-Coordinators are limitless with a player of Moss’s caliber lining up opposite Calvin. Then…at the end of the season you let him do what Randy Moss does best…move on.

thats why I like Schwartz and co.

they don’t care about quick fixes or bringing in players that aren’t going to be a positive and long term help for the team. KVB is older and we paid him a lot, but he’s such a big impact on everyone on defense and has been good so far this season and next year should still produce.

If M****n was still around we would cut Avril or Kevin Smith and sign Moss to a 8 year 90 million dollar contract. But the new regime realizes that Moss will not lead to a successful franchise and that just because he can catch a bomb or two for 80 yards and 1 td a game does not make his attitude or lack of competitiveness worth it.

by lions_sucker on Nov 1, 2010 4:21 PM EDT up reply actions

I was only replying to Sean's post...

of Schwartz’s reaction. I also don’t think BJ is as terrible as he is made out to be, he’s a no. 3 receiver and fits the role well. I do think we need to get a true no.2 guy across from CJ in the early-mid rounds of the draft(like a Mike Williams of Tampa Bay) that is taller and can run deep routes and be effective so that Burleson can play the slot and then BJ(no.4) and DWheelz(slot) will be solid depth. If room is needed on roster, cut BJ at that point.

He’s obviously talented and him and CJ on the same field with Stafford and Best? Would absolutely be insane. AND he would get a shot at the Vikings. If he even makes it to us then we should without a doubt take him. If he’s a little bitch and just cries like he did for Minnesota then throw him on the waivers. He knows that his career is over if he goes back on the waivers. He wants to earn a paycheck for the next few years so reality has set in getting waived. If he doesn’t want to play hard for the rest of the season then he can retire early.

well we can remove Minny from that list

so realistically the Lions are 6th. Here’s something. This is the first time in almost two years that the Lions have not been in the top 2 in waiver wire priority.

he would go nuclear in Dallas

Please Jerry Jones, pick him up just for the entertainment value!

Can you imagine?

DrewsLions was right and I was wrong. Stafford did in fact post a QB rating better than 89.7, he put up a 90.2 rating. I have not been happy about being wrong in so long!

Lions are 8th

and a lot of teams ahead of us might take him …

by Libran on Nov 1, 2010 5:45 PM EDT up reply actions

Correct order

I think that’s not correct … Waiver order as per nfl.com

Buffalo
Carolina
Dallas
Denver
San Francisco
Cincinnati
Cleveland
Detroit
Minnesota ( we lost to them)

………..

I dont think he makes it past

Carolina, Denver or at the latest Cleveland.

by shanndiggit on Nov 1, 2010 6:02 PM EDT up reply actions

Good gravy

Moss has no idea what purgatory he’s put himself into.

by Elfuego51 on Nov 1, 2010 6:08 PM EDT up reply actions

Us losing to them

Doesn’t matter in the waiver wire process, there are no tie breakers. If a team has the same W/L as another, the team with the first pick is the team whose past opponents have the lowest aggregate W/L.

How long does it take for a player to be claimed usually?

How long does each team have to decide if they want him or not?

La Confora just said we would be a playoff team if games were 50 minutes long instead of 60

They are reporting that Randy has not been officially releashed

And I guess most of the players are livid that Randy is being released.

Percy Harvin is flipping out He and the team are LIVID

Moss was actually working one on one with Harvin teaching him everything he needs to be a great reciver. Harvin is VERY upset. There saying Moss still has not been told by the minny yet officialy

Ditto

As they should….Burleson could move to the slot, where he belongs, and Moss and CJ could light it up on the outside.

Short update

Apperently Chill has full control of the roster BUT he did not make the front office aware of this move. They are finding out just like everyone else. Randys agent says Moss is deeply saddend by the release but will the the waiver process do its thing. So far there is still reports that the Vikings have not made it official. I can only assume the move will likely end up with Brad Childress leaving at the end of the season or a Vince McMahon would say….YOUR FIRREEEDDDD!

I wonder how GM Rick Spielman thinks about that

If I am not mistaken. It was Rick that went out and got Moss.

The waiver wire for today

Does not have Randy Moss listed. Still no exact reason for the release but it sounds like Childress just preempting what is being called mutinay in the waiting..Funny part is he may have just caused it.

Buffalo? Why not?

They found a QB apparently, he has no target though. But Moss wants a winning team. I say he goes back to NE or Skins
