And CC has not been that bad for us this year IMO.
I think he has been stuck with a “classic” nickname that sports writers just love to repeat.
Really, I think he has the best nickname in the NFL.

it's kind of a dumb list...
as the worst players in the NFL would be guys who float around on practice squads or who have never started a game or gotten off of special teams. By that definition, C.C. Brown should not be on it, a guy like Vinnie Ciurciu or Larry Izzo would be on it, and what about Marquand Manuel or Ko Simpson, those guys did a worse job than C.C. Brown.
Barnwell explained what went in to his criteria for selecting a guy as the worst.
It is a pretty subjective list and is really just for entertainment. Not really a serious attempt to rank the worst players.

Yeah, but I think the issue is what Deadspin is in the sports media space.
In the post-Leitch era, they’ve kind of been all over the place. They break stories like those MLB docs and the Favre thing and make arguments for their legitimacy while still having stuff like the Jambaroos and various other joke-posts. When they come out with something like the “100 Worst NFL Players of All Time” list, I can kind of understand how people can be confused. Do they want to be a legit media source or do they want to be insufferable little pranksters? Is this a researched, epic article or a half-joke someone thought up after a few shots of whiskey and a game of Madden? It’s not like if this came out on Kissing Suzy Kolber, anyone would’ve given it a second thought about taking it seriously. The reverse if it came out on ESPN, and they’d be ready for the flames from 32 fanbases.

I'd be more concerned of where it's posted, not who's posting it.
Though I guess it adds to the article’s credibility, being posted on Deadspin pretty much ruins it.
Why is anyone taking this list seriously?
It’s a flippantly put-together list without any real research basis or metrics of differentiation—hell, they don’t even really articulate what defines the “100 Worst NFL Players of All Time” very well.
Sometimes I enjoy post-Leitch Deadspin, but most of the time it’s Gawker Media fluff with a heaping helping of trying too hard. That said, they do break some good stuff every once in a while and I have more of a problem with a guy like C.C. Brown taking this seriously than Deadspin publishing it.

I guess if you’re even on the consideration list for worst 100 – you are pretty lousy. Instead of flapping his lips about the list – CC should strive to become a below average NFL player – that would at least get him off the list…
