A place where I can talk about the Lions with people that actually enjoy it. I have spent too many Sundays from 1-4pm by myself watching the Lions and then not having anyone to talk about the heartbreak or joy with afterwards as there are not too many Lions fans here in Ontario. Just wanted to say thanks to all you POD members for making this a great site and an amazing place for a true Lions fan to call home.
Just a quick question....its time for me to invest in a new jersey...my Barry Sanders jersey is signed and has been retired to hanging in my sports memorabilia room and my Joey Harrington jersey is retired to the closest and used for outdoor football games or whatever else I am going to get dirty doing lol so the question is what jersey do I get?? I was thinking of CJ before this season but now I just might be leaning to Suh. I know its ultimately up to me but I am curious who has the love on this site......

Calvin and Suh would be great choices. There are others like Stafford or Best or Delmas as well. But like you said, it’s your choice to make.

Dude I was up way up north in Montana up on highline damn near canada working...
I drop into one tiny bar in the town sit down at the bar for a beer, start looking around and I notice there is a lot of Lions memorabilia on the walls. Turns out this guy is a relative of Jason Hanson and I just sat having a beer with the owner and talkin lions. he was as excited to see a fellow lions fan as i excited as i was to see a lions decorated bar in MT. Its actually just down the road from were casey fitzsimmons is originally from.
Actually, screw it. Get knock-off Authentics, and get 2!, Stafford and Suh!

Both CJ and Suh are awesome choices, both should be around a very long time and be very good players, Stafford should be in that mix too.
Other than those guys, I think Delmas is a good choice too and definitely part of the core of our team. If you want to go a bit more obsucre, and be risky, you could try out Alphonso Smith, Chris Houston, Tony Scheffler, Brandon Pettigrew or Jahvid Best. If you want to be effin nuts you could get Jonathan Wade, C. C. Brown, Derrick Williams or Bryant Johnson.

Get it from ebay. You can buy Best or Suh jerseys on there from American sellers that look like the $275 NFL jersey for less than $50. They are the same material with stitched name and numbers just like the Lions wear.
I bought one for my brother before the first game on ebay for $30 (Best) and free shipping. I bought a walter payyon jersey a while back too. They are all awesome! Most of the American sellers have thousands of transactions and no negative feedback. It’s the only way to get an “authentic” jersey in my book.

It isn't 100% real though Profiler
They are knock offs but the difference is not recognizable to the naked eye.
They usually come with tags on them as well as the NFL players and Roebok tags sewn on, just like the real thing.
However, nearly all of the time, if you look at the paper tags or the sewn on tags, you will see some blemishes in the printing. Nothing glaring; just not crisp like the NFL sold model. On the ones that I have purchased, you can’t tell the difference on the actual jersey though.
I only buy the “authentic” knock-off’s any more. My Reggie Bush jersey is 2 years old, has been washed several times, and it is still perfect.

Check the print on the tags sewn at the bottom of the jersey though. Says the same thing as the authentic, but for whatever reason they are usually not crisp or well defined. It’s like trying to identify a fake Louis Vuitton—-almost impossible if you don’t know where to look.

I have a few knock-offs and there are...
some flaws, but the for the difference in price… no question that it’s a sham to buy the NFL licensed stuff. I have about four knock-off authentics and no one can tell the difference.

Say for instance, you want a Stefan Logan Jersey.
(Schwartz was saying in the Lions Review, that he is trying to talk Stefan into buying a house in Detroit.)
Buy the $26 Authentic Roy W. jersey, and you can take it to a tailor and have them switch the nameplate on the back.
Bingo, you are not gonna find Knock-off Jerseys for lesser known players. But this is a way to get authentics cheap.

Just kidding, this is great information guys. I have been struggling over the purchase of a jersey for over six months now. The cost, whose number, and you guys have given me a lot to think about.
I am leaning to someone who is not one of the popular choices. ie. Alphonso, Houston, or Pettigrew. But then you get into that head game like…is he going to be around, what if he ends up sucking, injured, etc.
