Fire Linehan?

I have been hearing lots of chatter from POD members who want him fired.  I think that he had a plan for our offense using Stafford as QB.  The limited play form Stafford was vastly improved from last season so I think it was working.  Even Shaun Hill has put up decent numbers which I would argue are better than in his earlier career.  That said SH can not put points on the board.  His stats are very similar to when he was in SF.  QB rating in DET is 80.5 and his career is 84.8.  His throwing yards per play are 6.3 in Detroit vs. 6.5 for his career.  Hence he is a dinker who still in his career only  completes 61.7% of his passes vs. 61.6% in Detroit.

The true blame is shown in the sacks.  For his career SH has been sacked on7.1% of his throws.  In DET he has been sacked on 3.9% of his throws.  Take Staff, last year he was sacked on 6.3% of his throws and this year he was sacked on 4.1%.  Somebody here designed an OL that  protects the QB at what I think is the cost of a running game.   I think the reason that we are incurring some holding penalties is that Linehan is directing the line to protect the QB at all costs.  Maybe if we started pulling and cutting more then we could open some holes.  But all in all how can we fire a guy who is forced to work with an average backup dinker and doinker QB.  One by the way who is a decent backup.
