quick recap of my Lions Thanksgiving experience

Hey everyone - I just got back from my first ever Thanksgiving game and just wanted to give a quick post on something I did on Friday before I headed home. I decided to head on over to Allen Park to see the Lions headquarters since I'm always reading about Allen Park in the online articles, etc. and since I'm from out of state, I've never been to Allen Park. I got there and took a look around and was surprised to see that the front door to the reception area was actually open. I ended up going in and the head of security was sitting at the front desk filling in until the rest of the staff came in later in the day. We sat there for about an hour and a half talking, and he was giving me all kinds of stories of things he's seen, etc. in his 10 years that he's been with the team. It was pretty awesome - I obviously couldn't really look around the practice facility or anything since people were working, but I thought it was really cool that he was that friendly and took the time to make me feel so welcome. I even got to meet our punter Nick Harris who was heading out while I was there - he was really friendly and shook my hand and even gave me an autographed football card. Very worthwhile stop, very cool - just had to share it with you all since I knew you'd probably appreciate it

Also, after the game, I went over to the Corner Lounge in Ford Field to hear the 97.1 postgame show - got to meet Jon Jansen while I was there, he was doing the show w/ Fithian. Really nice guy, very friendly. Wasn't too many people there w/ it being Thanksgiving and all, but still was cool meeting Jansen.

Kid Rock was great at halftime too - had seats right on the 50 and had a perfect view of the halftime show., and I could see Phil Simms & the Rock when they were interviewing him right behind be too. pretty sweet. Overall, a great experience, even if we couldn't pull out the W. I'd highly recommend hitting a Thanksgiving game if you get a chance - I've been waiting for about 20 years to go to one since I was a kid, so it was great to finally make it to one. Plus, the Thanksgiving parade in the morning was awesome too, definitely worth seeing

Sorry for rambling just had to share my good times w/ all of my fellow PODers - later guys, happy Thanksgiving
