Heartbreak again...but dont race to jump off the wagon!

So after racing home from a wedding and a 6 hour drive I was soooo excited to get home get my armchair quarterback refreshments and settle myself in for an entertaining game. By the time I had started watching the game everyone else was already in heartbreak mode after that loss. I know that we can sit there and piss and moan about how we gave this game away and yes....we did. We had that game all wrapped up and a great upset for the entire league to witness and recognize that this Lions team was no longer a pushover.

I think that we have accomplished that and now we will not be able to sneak up on anyone. Every team will realize they are in for a fight when they face the Lions. I am not ready to throw in the towel on this team at all. I have read a lot of negative posts and comments on here but lets be honest this is not the same old Lions. The same old Lions would have found a way to lose by 30 points and not 3 in OT to a supposed Superbowl contender. Its hard, its almost impossible right now to take anything positive out the game but thats because the wound is still fresh. There will be many more times and many more games where this sort of thing will happen...teams win games they shouldnt and lose games they should win and that is sports in a nutshell. For anyone here that is willing to jump ship now and start the blame game I say you are entitled to your opinion but I dont agree with it. We are taking the steps in the right direction to make this team a contender for a long long time. Yes if you do the math there are a tonne of small things that contributed to the loss but do not give up hope, do not throw in the towel...if anything this is the time to fully get behind this team. Sports is about heartbreak and upsets, its about random things happening and contributing to an unbelievable ending to a game you thought was in the bag. It happens, to the best teams and it happens to the worst teams. That is sports and the reason why we love our teams. Over the last few weeks I have read so many positive things and it made me proud to be Lions fan, but after yesterday and reading all of the negative comments I became disheartened again. That was pure and simple a Murphy's Law type of game for us. What could go wrong went wrong...and please do not call this the same old Lions. Young teams find ways to lose games and we did that yesterday. But instead of concentrating on the bad parts I am looking at the positives. We moved the ball quite well against a supposed top tier defence. We had the lead and the game if not for a few freak injuries and at the worst times the ending would never have been in question. Be positive, be a driving force behind the resurgence of this team. Remember its been 2 years since 0-16 and the fix does not happen over night. I personally want a team that will be good for years and years...not just a flash in the pan. This takes time....I know we have had a lifetime of bad losses and horrible teams...but if you think this is still the same old team then we disagree. I have faith, I will not waver and I will bleed honolulu blue until the day I die. Take the positives not the negatives. The new players here have given us a reason to root for them and get their back...Lets not throw them under the bus by comparing them to the Lions of the past...lets let them make their own history.

GO LIONS!!!
