Amazing... simply Amazing. Even after a Lions win, you can always count on at least one sports writer to write something that still gives a shot to the pills. It's like a Detroit sports writers first instinct now is to be Capt. Buzz Kill. On Sunday, December 12th, the Lions got an entire tree full of monkey's off their back. They took down the Green Bay Packers and they held them to one single field goal. What does the game mean to anybody outside of Detroit ? Not a heck of a lot. But to us it meant everything. Yesterday the Lions not only won, but they beat the crap out of Packers offense. It was one of the most impressive defensive performances the Lions have displayed in over 10 years. Is that the headline this morning?? Nope, its how our back-up's back-ups didn't let us blow the game. Before we talk about how Lions and how they beat a very good Packer team... lets take a shot at them and joke that Detroit folks will finally see an NFL game... the implication being the Lions suck and the Giants and Vikings are good. Wait... aren't the Vikings 5-7 and feature more Drama than a Blockbuster Video store? Don't worry though, the rest of the article made sense.
Save the comments , we've already heard enough of it the last 3 months. Its bad enough watching them loose so many games to so many good teams by so close of a margin but is it really necessary to remind us after we took down the Packers? God knows the papers have enough trouble filling up space but I also think empty space is better than garbage.
And one more pressing issue... why in the hell are you already starting talks about Calvin and if he will stay or go? He's human isn't he? Obviously if the Lions don't change and start upgrading fast, do you think think he'll stick around because of Loyalty? Here's a thought... publish what the guy actually said. I know we need to sell newspapers but do we need go down the route of causing drama? He's are best player and you guys want to give him another reason to leave?"
Bottom Line is we just won... it wasn't pretty on the sat board but it was beautiful to Lions fans. Show them some love.
