Its a no brainer..

Of course the Lions win over the Packers was the victory of the week. All of the other match-ups didn’t have such a gap between team records. It seems that the victory of the week should be when the cellar dweller beats a play-off contender late in the season.

On another note, this might have been the best couple of Lions related days since the 1991 season. Lions beat Packers at home. Packers lose star quarterback in game. Bears get crushed. Metrodome collapses. The streak ends in Detroit. Vikings lose. Vikings players begin turning on each other. And all is well that ends well.

Lions over Packers

Not just because they won but how they did it. In the two areas the Lions are suppost to be weak in. Defense and running.I can’t remember the last time we won on defense.

I voted Lions because my pick wasn't on the board

Yeah, we won, but that was a shitty, shitty game. I usually pick the most interesting game as my winner, and as such, if the Ravens had been on the list, they would have taken my vote.

I'm expecting 100% improvement from the Lions this season.

by ahtrap on Dec 14, 2010 1:51 PM EST up reply actions

Going off the board, the Texans/Ravens game last night was fantastic

Ravens got out to a 28-7 lead by running back a kick early in the third quarter, and from then it was all Texans, chipping away at the lead. They got a couple of field goals to get it within two scores, and then in the 4th quarter, had a 99 and 95 yard drives for TDs – against the Ravens defense! – with the last TD coming with 20 seconds to go, and they converted the 2 pointer to tie it up. The Ravens D is totally gassed at this point, so it’s lucky they got the ball to start OT to give the D a bit of rest, but the Ravens offense screwed up and had to punt.

But instead of the Texans finishing off the comeback, Schaub throws a pick 6 to end the game. That team is as snakebit as we usually are, with FOUR 14 point comebacks this season that ended up being losses, and crazy endings like that Jags game, where a Texans corner bats down a hail mary…right into the arms of a Jags player for a winning TD.

I'm expecting 100% improvement from the Lions this season.

Obviously I voted for the Lions

But I’m shocked that we lead the vote. That was a disgusting game if you didn’t have a rooting interest.

Pats over Bears would have been second for me

It’s just so amazing and fun to watch how New England consistently dominates good teams in terrible conditions.

Not a great game in many respects... but a valiant defensive performance

…and a surprise win, many people… us and them never saw the Lions taking this win.

While I was happy watching our Lions win a game finally

I have to be honest. Watching the Pats take apart supposed title contending team after team the way they have these last few weeks make that the best game to watch for me this week. throw in the horrible weather they did it in and it was easily the most impressive win of the weekend for me.

right now, No

it is going to take an injury. Brady is playing with so much confidence and poise. The O line is giving him time to deal the ball and the defense is benefiting from playing with an offense that forces the other team to try to keep up, often taking them out of their game plan.

If you are going to beat the Pats, you are going to have to run the ball and stay committed to it for the entire game no matter the score or situation. The short passing game they have going voids most pass rushes, their running game is opening up because of the passing games success. It is just flat out nasty right now.

Tom Brady and the Patriots are expected to beat lesser teams (Bears are a lesser team)

Pretty much nobody (you & I included) expected Detroit to beat the Packers.

Add to that they held the Packers to zero touchdowns scored.

Undeniably the win of the week.

Detroit vs Green Bay

Who’d have thought, Detroit over Green Bay using a third string QB no less, against one of the hottest QBs in the league.

The local press certainly didn’t.

In spite of their strong local support, the Lions came out strong. The defense on both teams was excellent. The offense were stymied, even Jason Rodgers while he was in. At the same time, it should be noted that the Lions QB, Drew Stanton played with a cut thumb on his throwing hand.

Watching Rodgers getting injured was to us in Detroit no big deal.. We’ve lost our number one QB, Stafford to injury two years in a rown and on top of that lost our back up as well.

The Lions played like they were going to win and played with that confidence.

Go Lions. Make it two upsets in a row!

Super Bowl 2011

Patriots against either Falcons or Saints. Patriots win either game by at least 10 pts!
