Detroit Sports Project's Second Lions Mock Draft
Hey Lions Fans. A few months ago I posted my blogs first 2010 Lions mock draft in order to get feedback from everybody and it was a great success.
We've just completed our second version of the mock, the last version we will do before the combine, and I would really appreciate it if everyone took a look and gave us their feedback once again.

McCluster is likely a second rounder...
O’Brien Schofield is a 6’2 236lb linebacker. Not a DE. And no QB!!!!
if the shoe fits...get another one just like it - George Carlin
Schofield is projected as a DE in the NFL. McCluster right now is projected as a late second rounder and could drop to the second spot in the third.

Update – Go with Alex Carrington at the Round 5 Number 2 spot, Schofield suffered a pretty serious injury at the senior bowl and his stock is falling. Also, K Brett Swenson was listed as an undrafted free agent and not a draft pick.

How in the world is a 236lb linebacker projected as a DE in the NFL?

Nice
I know a lot of people will criticize your picks because people dont believe they are important enough. I think it is solid and it fills needs at a lot of positions and it is more realistic than some mock drafts I have seen that go all offense or all defense which wont happen. This does lean a little heavy on the offensive side and the QB pick is iffy but i know the reason behind it.
To all the guys out there we need talent and depth, this provides needed depth at QB, RB, and WR with a starting G. On defense we get a project on the defensive line and a starter at DT. The one thing that we need that wasn’t addressed really is the secondary cause 1 cb is not going to do a lot of good with our secondary. And whats the problem with getting Swenson as a undrafted free agent. I love Hanson but we need to look at his replacement

only picks i dont like are 6th.. the K is fine if some how we land him as a UFA but he will get drafted by some one
i wouldnt mind drafting a K if we where to traded hansen for a 6th or 7th then i would be fine but i cant see that happoning..
i geas the same goes for QB though
if we trade drew i would want us to pick one up.. and Sean Canfield would be a good back up he is what you want in one.. some what mobile and very good accuracy.. he cant do the deep ball though…
but i cant see us traded drew either..
Rather get a QB in FA
As for a kicker it isn’t a bad idea incase Hanson get hurt or something as long as we don’t waste a pick. lets face it Hanson wil be gone in a couple years. Some one like Swenson could turn out to very good in a few years working behind Hanson and working some kickoffs. As far as QB i;d be much happier with a vetran like Clemons, or Pennington I think Chad would be good for Stafford to help him develop his game behind the scenes it no Question Matt will start day one but it be nice to have a saftey net if he got hurt again. My mock has us Taking Brown from CMU at reciver especially if we get a FA reciver. I’d like to fill one of those spots with maybe another offensive lineman. I like Mccluster actuall especially as a return man I think we also need to look at Ryan Matthews as well.

Good call on Ryan Matthew, I think he has a lot of potential.

Interesting selections...
Very similar to what Walterfootball have, although they have Suh first. I don’t hate the Canfield pick, although we have more pressing needs.
The Bringers of Hope: Stafford - Delmas - C. Johnson - Pettigrew - Levy - Hill - Schwartz
Zack Follett: he will hurt your mind.
Not the chip off the old block
I like you’re late round picks, I think they show that u did your research. I actually wouldn’t mind taking a QB in the 6th round.
The beginning of the end of the misery
