Lions Offseason
Draft:
RD1-Ndamakong Suh DT
RD2-Kyle Wilson CB
RD-2 Devin McCourty CB (Trade 3rd and 6th and if necessary a future to move into the mid second round)
RD4-Larry Asante SS
RD5-John Jerry OG
RD 5-Joique Bell RB
Free Agency:
Kieth Bulluck LB (Don't be surprised Jim Schwartz was a former Linebackers coach and Defensive Coordinator for the Titans and has nothing but good things to say about him. i don't know if he will be Franchised or whatever but last i looked he was a FA)
Kyle Vanden Bosch DE ( I don't agree that DE is a huge need for us and i hate the idea of drafting a DE in the early rounds. Hunter,Avril,Bryan all showed flashes last year and had no inside help at all the DTs combined had 1 sack, i think if more pressure is put on the QB from the inside our Ends will excell. That being said im not opposed to looking at an upgrade via Free Agency)
Aaron Kampman DE (Probably not a realistic option for us. Love Kampman i think he would start Strongside and Devries on the Weakside and we would have a pretty good DE Rotation behind them)
Jevon Kearse DE (I don't know his status but i think he is a legitimate option)
Kevin Walter WR (I think he would be a nice option in the slot for us)
Josh Bullocks S (Cheap Backup)
Resign:
Larry Foote LB
Jon Jansen OT
Daniel Bullocks (Backup)
Anthony Henry (Backup)
Offense:
Starting Offensive Tackles- Jeff Backus and Jon Jansen
Starting Offensive Guards- John Jerry and Stephen Peterman
Starting Center- Dominic Raiola
Starting Tight End- Brandon Pettigrew
Starting Wide Receivers- Calvin Johnson,Bryant Johnson and Kevin Walter
Starting Tailback- Joique Bell
Starting Fullback- Jerome Felton
Starting Quarterback- Matthew Stafford
Defense:
Starting Defensive Ends- Kyle Vanden Bosch and Jared Devries
Starting Defensive Tackles- Ndamakong Suh and Sammie Lee Hill
Starting Outside Linebackers- Kieth Bulluck and Julian Peterson
Starting Middle Linebacker- Larry Foote
Starting Cornerbacks- Kyle Wilson and Devin McCourty
Starting Safeties- Louis Delmas and Larry Asante
Ok look Sims,Levy,Follett/Dizon can be a second unit to the Veterans up there. Buchanon and Henry serve as backups, as do the Bullock twins. Avril could be moved to a Rush Linebacker (Sims,Levy,Avril) and Hunter and Bryan serve as backups to the starting DEs. To me this is a realistic Defense, some of you may think im dreaming but i truly think it is realistic.

Sorry to burst your bubble...
But it’s more or less guaranteed that Levy and Sims (if he’s still on the team) are going to have startings spot in the LB corps… I think Bulluck is a possibility, but only if we get lucky, though I relish the idea.
I really don’t think Kyle Vanden Bosch is going to be on this team… he’s like, 32 and wants a lot of money after his ‘Pro Bowl’ season.
Too many DB’s in the draft, especially back to back CB’s in the 2nd and 3rd.
Also, a rookie RB from D-II ball drafted in the 5th round is going to be the starting tailback for us?
Where did Cherilus go in this scenario?
I really think that this is less of a ‘dream’ than it would be a nightmare (for me anyways). Sorry to rip your post but if the team looked like this come opening day, I’m not sure how I’d feel.
Pierre Garcon,Al Harris,Fred Jackson,Vincent Jackson
Hmm yeah those guys aren’t Starters in the NFL. Joique Bell was the Div II player of the Year, i don’t care what you say that takes talent.
plus Kevin Smith sucks
although he is coming back stronger and better than he ever has been. Cmon give me a break
No need to get defensive buddy
I just don’t think it’s realistic to think a D-II back is going to get drafted in the 5th and proceed to start for our team. Kevin Smith Maurice Morris, and Felton are all solid backs, and Aaron Brown would be in the mix as well. Unless we get an established player or marquee draft pick, I highly doubt he’ll automatically become our starter.
ya Bell isn't starting right away
All of the guys you mentioned didn’t start right away either. Garcon is the only guy that started in his rookie season, and I think he is overrated cause he plays in Indy
The beginning of the end of the misery
SLH got drafted in the 4th and starts
Garcon is the only guy that started in his rookie season, and I think he is overrated cause he plays in Indy
……..and he gets lots of catches. I hope the Lions get somebody overrated like that.

Hey, as long as Zack Follett keeps hitting people, he can rap to Barney the Dinosaur for all I care.
also have you seen our CBs?
Who is going to Start? Will James? Did you not see him get burned a billion times last year? please tell me why it is a bad idea to Draft DBs? the only good one we have is Delmas
I suggest you take a look at my post
I absolutely suggest we take secondary players, but taking two CB’s with 2nd and 3rd round picks is not (in my opinion) the way to do it.
dont mind that he takes back to back CBs
both of them are good players, but ya its unlikely to happen
The beginning of the end of the misery
-John Jerry will not last that long...
dont like the trade..Devin McCourty would be there for us in the 3rd any way..
two Centers went in the Late first last year then went the first Guards in the Late 2nd
then the next Guard taken was way down. John Jerry could be there
its ok
id be okay with this, just maybe not the mccourtney pick. we could get a bigger playmaker there and henry could start, he is still ok. but nothing like this would happen.
if lions trade dowen it be 1rd
if the stl takes a qb then lions trade dowen with tb for thier 1rd and 2rd and4rdpick
1rd gerald mccoy dt
2rd sean weatherspoon olb
2rd devin mccourty cb
3rd montario hardesty rb
4rd swawn lauvao g
4rd torrell troup dt
5rd chris chancellor cb
5rd cj wilson de
its the most realistic
one ive ever seen but i dont see them drafting two corners
i like it though
and maybe more o-line, signing or drafting
Dont like the projections at LB
why are people such fans of old LBs…I mean, c’mon we get a solid core that has played together, and the first thing some poeple wanna do is take them out of hte starting lineup and replace them with shitty players.

my biggest problem
is you would start devries over Avril
The best there is, The best there was, and the best there ever will be - Bret the Hitman hart
Where's
Cherilus,K-Smoov,and Levy in your starting lineup?Your draft I’m not opposed to at all, especially the idea of drafting back-to-back corners,as we need a couple of STARTERS there.Delmas is our ONLY legitimately good defensive back, and he needs a lot of help back there. Will James wouldn’t be bad as a nickleback,I’m thinking.
Levy
ok first i think you move Avril to a Strongside rush Linebacker similar to what Peterson is doing for us right now. Then i have a strong second Rotation of Sims/Levy/Avril. I personally believe that if everyone has a fair shot in training camp the Vets will come out on top for the simple fact that they know the little things that it takes to win. Honestly Levy hasn’t done anything he had a great year, but how do we know its not a flash in the pan? I don’t and i think having him sit another year would continue to help his growth. Also on a side note when he was Drafted the guy they said he could turn out to be like was Kieth Bulluck who better to take lessons from?
They tried that at Purdue
Avril don’t like playing LB, and looked totally lost

Kevin Smith
Kevin Smith sucks. Aaron Brown can’t run between the Tackles. Maurice Morris is getting Older.
Look go ahead and tell me that when healthy Kevin Smith is a top 10 back in the NFL. Im going to shoot back that im not convinced he is top 10 in his draft class. Also i think he is the 5th best back in the NFC North (Peterson,Grant,Taylor,Forte,Smith) that’s sad. I think we are continually blinded by his “Oh ill get it next game” or “Im Starting to get a good feel out there”. This is nonsense what has Kevin Smith truly proven? nothing, nothing at all.
Hes not a top 10 back
but He’ll do for now…we got bigger needs to fill with our first round pick

who is talking First round pick?
i wouldn’t touch a RB till at least the 3rd and i myself like Joique Bell even if he has to sit a year behind Smith and Morris im alright with that i think he has talent and could be a good back in the league
Cherilus
He Develops for a year behind Jon Jansen. Its pretty much that simple
i would like to see what he can do at guard

i would too
i would like to see him at RG though maybe move Peterman over to LG i don’t know if it would work but its intriguing to me
So he starts for two years
and then they pull him, as a 1st round draft pick, and make him sit behind Jon Jansen…
Once again, I don’t disagree with the notion, but its completely unrealistic.
if he sucks ass, then i dont think it matters where he was picked
The beginning of the end of the misery
Point being
Teams don’t invest money and time into players just to sit them, and although Cherlius hasn’t performed to the standards we’d like to have seen, I highly doubt that Schwartz is going to sit him for Jansen.
