IAG News Network: SM & LT UPDATE 2/16

The rumor-mill that is IAG news network has worked diligently to provide you with this piece of gossip

Around 7:40 PM LB Shawne Merriman of the San Diego Chargers posted the following:

" shawnemerriman I feel like going to the wild animal park and playing in a lions den"

Our rumor analysts believe this could mean the veteran is looking into the detroit organization as a new landing

spot once he is released from the chargers...or he is brutally suicidal YOU DECIDE.

UPDATE 2/16 10:33 It turns out there MIGHT be some supporting evidence of my Merriman claim.

It seems that according to league sources (the internet) LT's agent, Tom Condon, and his client are considering

wearing Honolulu Blue as a place for the once-high-producing veteran to end his career. My analysis: Shawne

Merriman does not want to go to the SD zoo he hates animals, he told me, I think he wants to possibly follow his

soon-to-be ex-teamate to a land of starting opportunity, and a nice new paycheck.

I don't know about him

coming off a bad knee injury, and I personally didn’t think he looked too good this past year….but who knows, maybe he can regain his old form. I’d have to see this happen to believe it though

Not interested

I wouldn’t be like, upset if we got him, but we don’t need MORE linebackers, and Merriman hasn’t been and probably will never be the same since he got off the roids…

I meant to say though

Good find Gross, thanks for keeping us on the edge

who would u want

Foote or Merriman…. Foote is healthier and wants to be here….. was Merriman all that good last year or are they a wash….?

GO LIONS in 2010! the transformation starts now.. they have much to do.

Sorry to burst your bubble...

But there is a place just north of SD called the “Wild Animal Park”. It’s part of the San Diego Zoo. The animals roam free in a more natural habitat, and you drive through in Jeep like vehicles, Safari style.

I would bet his statement has more to do with the actual park and less to do with our Beloved Lions.

I've actually been there

The animal park out there is very cool….you can even rent these little two wheel scooters that you stand on and ride around. Very cool park, highly recommend it if you ever are out there. San Diego is a kick-ass place to visit. Coronado Island blew my mind.

The lions are actually penned up..most of the animals that could/would injure you are viewable, but separated so as not to eat the Giraffes and Zebras and whatnot

Great news!

It usually takes a year for a full recovery from major knee surgery. If thats the case I hope we get him!
