Hey dude

Welcome to POD… Most here are good lads and the chat here is generally pretty interesting/informative.

In terms of needs, we need a lot more talent before this team gets a winning record.

I agree with all the needs you put forward except K. Hanson is fine for now, Harris has been poor though, so maybe a young P.

Personally I think the Lions really need to nab a DT, CB, LG, RB and WR. No chance starters in these positions all come from the upcoming draft though.

Well, I have to agree on all but Hanson

we lions fans (this is so sad) truely love Hanson. Hes been the only consistent thing since Barry left. a DB would help as well

Agree wholeheartedly and welcome...

Nice to see other real fans of other teams take an interest in the Lions. I agree on all of your assessments, Hanson I could take or leave at this age, but definately need to start looking. Although I am continually impressed with his power for his age. Morton(?) Anderson couldn’t kick over 40 yards at this stage in his career, but Hanson can still boot a 50-yarder 75% of the time. Just as long as we don’t give up anything to try out a new kicker i could care less really.

what i want to do but likley will not happen is trade

hansen for a 6th or 7th then draft that one with that pick
Harris for a 7th and draft that one with that pick

this will hot happen but i can dream

I know he's just a kicker

Hansen has held in there year after year after year. Played very well on a bad team I’d like to show the guy the respect of having the option to retire here. I think we need to consider a UFA kicker to worker under hansen and back up as well he hasn’t been healthy as of late. Welcome to POD ( home of the obsurd mock drafts) LOL

I feel the same way, Hanson should have the opportunity to finish things out here if he wants to. He’s our all-time leading point scorer so I think that should mean something.

Welcome to P.O.D., j-man!

We’re excited about the future of our team. Coach Schwartz is a smart, likable coach with a great plan. Come join the excitement and watch the Lions build a future Super Bowl Champion team!

his winning percentage...and playoffs wins..

are better than Montana’s. And lets not get into what Montana had around him. Verus what Elway had.

Hanson

I hope we let Hanson retire as a LIon.
I’m also hoping he can do just one more year, there are several really good kickers that will be available next year including the one from Nebraska.

Welcome to the POD

Welcome j-man!
I always enjoyed watching Elway. He was a great QB and retired while on top!
I do have a question for you.
How do you feel about the Cutler trade?

by coolbreeze42 on Feb 19, 2010 7:35 AM EST reply actions

well

mixed turthfull i am happy about it at first I was dippoted that we traded him because i know how hard it is to find a great qb but he thows in dobule-covage locked on 1 wr McD never really liked him as a qb orton is good but we downgraded as far as skill goes

Welcome to the POD, J-Man

I’m glad you’re here. Coolbreeze asked a good question. We had a chance to take Cutler, but passed on him for Ernie Sims (I think). Your assessment of our needs is spot on. Hanson has 19 years in the league, and I’m afraid his time is almost up. I say we go after Brett Swenson after the draft, or Nebraska’s kicker (I forgot his name). Bring both into camp and let them fight it out.
