1972 Dolphins VS 2008 Lions: Who Would Win

I know what you're thinking, Dolphins win by at least 50, right.  I'm not so sure anymore.  The game has changed a lot since 1972.  The Lions would be way faster, bigger, and stronger.

Off-Topic announcement:

After the combine, I'll post the greatest fan post off-season ever.  It will be written with pure awesomeness.  Infact, it will be so incredibly awesome, those with a heart condition may not want to read it.

Stafford would dominate those grandpa's

There were some games this year I swear the Lions played like they were 60 year old men. Lions 20-Dolphins 17

Northcutt wasn't with us yet

But I guess we did have Roy Williams for a few of those early games in 2008

Hey that's a timeout, I can play right? yeah, get me--get the F-- Help me up...I can throw the ball if you need me to throw the ball...

Prime vs Prime

Larry Csonka runs all over the 2008 Lions D…….the 72 Dolphins win with their backups playing the entire second half.

they had two pro bowl safeties...

the bigger question is. Who would cover Paul Warfield?

thats no contest

Schula vs marenellis, Csonka vs that D line it would be a slaughter. CJ would be a great weapon WR like him didn’t even exsist in 72 but the had probowl safteys.

Not that we executed it particularly well

but the modern Tampa-2 zone coverage we were running might have looked very foreign to an early-70’s era team and confused them.

But I suppose they’d be even more confused by the overall reluctance to tackle and cover.

Hey, as long as Zack Follett keeps hitting people, he can rap to Barney the Dinosaur for all I care.

I think the overall talent from the 72 team would overcome the athletic gifts (or lack of gifts) of the 08 Lions

The Bringers of Hope: Stafford - Delmas - C. Johnson - Pettigrew - Levy - Hill - Schwartz
Zack Follett: he will hurt your mind.
