Video of McCoy
I still haven't made up my mind on who'd I'd like to see Detroit draft with their first round pick. However, after watching this video, McCoy is definitely a beast. I'll give him that. Either way. I think the Lions are in a can't-lose position this year as far as the draft goes. No matter what St. Louis decides to do, it seems like there are more guaranteed difference makers this year than in past drafts.

Still not impressed
Did anyone notice that in that acceleration drill, he hit the line 4th out of the 5 guys? I won’t draw any conclusions from one rep, but he’d better bring more than that to the Combine.
Another thing I’ve noticed, but haven’t commented on up to now, is his personality. Schwartz wants a special player, a special person, with the personality of a Delmas.
“When we win, it’ll be because we play with the personality of Louis Delmas.”
In every interview I’ve seen, Ndomakong Suh and Eric Berry seem like guys who are mentally tough, who have great intagibles to go along with their talent. I’ve never gotten that impression from any Gerald McCoy interview. In terms of personality, he reminds me of the late Gaines Adams. That’s obviously a hard thing to quantify, so don’t ask me to prove it, but in terms of reading people, that’s the sense I get. I just don’t see the intangibles with McCoy. Ability alone has carried him this far, but the NFL is an entirely different level.

Hey, as long as Zack Follett keeps hitting people, he can rap to Barney the Dinosaur for all I care.

No…LOL…. in fact, I re watched it and he was first in both drills….
Don't worry guys GRL just sees what he wants to see.

Videos like that remind me
of how even though I am 6’2" 210lbs I would be crushed by guys playing at the NFL level.
I had a trainer for a bit who was a Falcons practice squad DB. Even though he was 5’7" and about 170 lbs, he could lift about twice what I could. As much as we pick and point at these guys and complain about faults—real and perceived—these guys are all in crazy good condition.
Similar video of Suh for those interested
http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-hq-videos/09000d5d816778a1/Draft-Journey-Suh-s-quest-for-No-1
You have to download the akamai thing but it’s quick to download and NFL.com has some other good HQ videos that use it.
I may be wrong, but in Suh’s video you see him bench press 4 45 plates on each side (405 pounds total) whereas in McCoy’s video you see him with 3 45 plates and what looks to me like a 10 on each side (335 pounds total). I bet Suh is going to beat McCoy at the combine by at least 5 reps of 225.
Great...
Now the NFL is teamed up with its an exclusive video player that requires a download… what a crock.
Yeah, it sucks
but it is a small non-intrusive download (so far at least). And the videos are pretty good quality
Some of them arent using that though for some reason
Seems like the HD videos are the only ones that use that

I think Suh has more of the intangibles
I belive mccoy is gonna need more work to become the “beast” you all keep calling him he has had a few games (big games) were he failed to impress me I need a guy like Suh that can shine under pressure. I will be happy with the Suh or Berry pick. I have reservations on Mccoy that can only be dissproven by him actually playing in the NFL and being this “beast”. I am not saying he isn’t good in the college ranks I just have doubts on his abillitys going pro.

I agree 100%……at least initially. I think McCoy could develop into a beast in the pros, but we need an immediate impact player in the top 5, or we need to trade out of the top 5.
Oh you didn't know?? You're ass better CALLLLLLLL SOMEBODY!!!!!
Doesn't even look like a DT
Looks like a DE. Too skinny for DT in the NFL… gimme someone like the Williams Wall or Hampton.

He looks quick
The Bringers of Hope: Stafford - Delmas - C. Johnson - Pettigrew - Levy - Hill - Schwartz
Zack Follett: he will hurt your mind.
He is
Gerald McCoy’s bread and butter is his quickness…..however the problem remains that he is not strong enough to overcome blocks when the opposition is also quick enough to get in front of him and get more than one set of hands on him. He will struggle mightily in the pros…..at least until he bulks up a bit and adds some more strength to go with his athletic ability and technique. As I said in another thread, I think it will be difficult for him as a 3 technique UT, to play LDT in our base 4-3 (it is different).
Oh you didn't know?? You're ass better CALLLLLLLL SOMEBODY!!!!!
McCoy
McCoy does not have a big injury history. Suh has had two knee surgeries.
If this were any other year, McCoy would be the talk of the draft. He is going to feel slighted after this process is over with all of the hoopla over Suh. He will have fire in the belly.
Gerald McCoy is a very good player. The Lions should take him.
Not seeing anything impressive about McCoy
He looks like a Pro DE, but def. not a DT. WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too small to play NT.

Yes.....Suh has had 2 knee surgeries......
and he also had two ultimately DOMINANT years in college after the last knee surgery, with NO injuries!
Oh you didn't know?? You're ass better CALLLLLLLL SOMEBODY!!!!!

remember those insane numbers you could put up. Thats what Suh did in real life.
