Mock Draft V2.0
A lot of changes from V1.0...that is all I have to say:
1)Eric Berry, Tennessee, (5-11, 200, 4.40): I’m assuming that the Rams draft Suh. Like many people on this site, I don’t believe McCoy fits our scheme, so Berry has to be the pick.
2)Kyle Wilson, Boise State, (5-10, 186, 4.40): He has all the tools to be a top flight corner in the NFL. The question isn’t whether or not he would be a good pick, but whether or not he would be there at 34.
3)Vladimir Ducasse, Massachusetts, (6-5, 330, 5.35): I think there are guards that more NFL ready than Ducassse, but talent-wise, Ducasse is the next best thing to Iupati. It will take him some time to adjust to the NFL game, but once he does, he has the chance to be really special.
4)Greg Hardy, Ole Miss, (6-5, 275, 4.60): In December and January, Hardy was looked upon as a potential mid first round pick. Since then, he has shown up out of shape and overweight at the senior bowl, and already has some character issues. With that said, Hardy is a first round talent, and if he available at the top of the fourth round, then it would be worth taking shot at him. He has every bit of talent to immediately start for this Lions squad.
5a) Cam Thomas, North Carolina, (6-3, 330, 5.10): Unlike Suh or McCoy, Thomas would really fit the Lions defensive scheme. At 330 lbs, he is big enough to play DT for this team. One interesting note: Thomas ran a 5.10 forty time compared to Suh’s 5.00. I know 40 times really don’t matter for interior lineman, but that should tell you guys how athletic he is.
5b) Joique Bell (6-1, 225, 4.55): Yes, this is sort of a homer pick, but if you watch some of the highlights, and look at the physical attributes of this guy, you will see that he has all the tools required to be a starter in the NFL level.
6)Kelton Tindall, Newberry, (6-3, 196, 4.30): Small school guy with really great speed, but is really really raw. Even with this great physical talents, he only managed to receive for 745 yards and 6 TDs in division II.

On a side note, 5.0 on a 40 for a 300 lbs man is pretty fast
I am certain most of us can’t run a 5.0 fourty HAHA

I dont think it would matter
They wanna take the BPA, and Wilson should be the BPA by far. My dream pick would be Brandon Graham though

I like it
I’d love to see berry and wilson in the same draft. It could instantly change a horrible secondary.

+14 and +1
We need both an elite safety and an elite CB (2, really). If we don’t take both a safety and a CB this year, we’ll have to take one next year. While patience in rebuilding is in general a good thing (don’t try to fix everything in one offseason)……..bottom line, Eric Berry and Kyle Wilson are elite players who fit, BPA, and fill needs, special players who have the personality and intangibles of a Delmas……….and we can realistically get both, at #2 and #34! Why would the Lions say no to that??? When a gift of that magnitude falls in your lap, you don’t say, “sorry, we can’t do both at once, let’s take somebody worse”. This is a golden opportunity.

Hey, as long as Zack Follett keeps hitting people, he can rap to Barney the Dinosaur for all I care.
Yes, it really is......
which is why I am scared to death that the Lions will pick McCoy and a RB in rounds 1 and 2…..
I have that feeling too...
I’m so excited about the prospect of getting Wilson and Berry that I know it won’t happen because I want it. THat’s how it works, just like with Curry this past year. The fact that Stafford publicly said that the coaches asked him what he wants and there’s been mention about getting him help early means exactly what you said – McCoy and a RB or WR in 1st two rounds. I hope not though…

Thank god we did not take Curry last year. The mind boggles.
Not sure why the Wilsonites are against an RB or WR at #34? Well, besides that is where you are praying that Kyle Wilson falls to.
If KSmith’s injury is as bad as rumoured we will have no #1 RB. All I have heard through the year is that our WRs besides Calvin suck. Do you guys think we can get starting WRs or RBs in the third and fourth round? Yeah maybe. I would think Mayhew will only take an RB or WR at #34 who has somehow fallen out of the first round for whatever reason. ie. The Best Player Available.
tend to agree
If Wilson isn’t there then we should go either WR or RB, especially if Dwyer is still there

Not Bad
A few people probably land were you have them, namely Cam Thomas & Greg Hardy.
The Bringers of Hope: Stafford - Delmas - C. Johnson - Pettigrew - Levy - Hill - Schwartz
Zack Follett: he will hurt your mind.
probably won't* land

Suh
If the Rams screw up and take a QB, how bout SUH and Graham. Fixes our D Line problems.
Wow, I love it
Unfortunately it won’t happen. Ducasse is a high second round pick, Hardy is a low second to high third, and Cam Thomas moved all the way up into the second round after a very exceptional Senior Bowl. I love it, but unfortunately it won’t happen……
I think the first three picks have a chance
Ducasse, depending on what draft board you look at, isn’t all that highly touted, so he could easily be there at early third, especially when you consider he is a guard. Hardy and Cam Thomas are the “wishes” here
