TRADE DOWN WITH BILLS!
I've been watching some different blogs and possible trade rumblings around the league, and it seem to me the best trade partner for the Lions would be the Bills. First I was looking at the Browns knowing they have QB problems and a potental suiter to trade down with the Lions. I thought it looks like Big Baby and LB Jackson could be availible, toss in a 4th pick? Not bad although I don't think it's as good as a possible Bills trade. First of all both these teams are new regime and looking for QB's. Bill's are switching to 3-4 and that has pushed Kyle Williams out of a position although he had a very good season last year and would be a starter with the Lions. Then you have the BEAST (Lynch 11th overall) who has fallen out of favour in Buffalo, but is a very good back and would definitely be a starter. Add to that Donte Whitner (8th overall) who been rumoured in a trade with the Redskins for Campbell, (and Bills already have 2 safety's that can start in Wilson and Byrd), put him alongside Delmas it sounds pretty good to me. Then of course Bills pick at 9 and and maybe a late one too.
BILLS GET: the QB with the 2nd pick they desparatley need, and give up no starters other than maybe Whitner which can be replaced without hurting them.
LIONS GET: 3 starters in Williams age 26, Whitner age 24, Lynch age 23 + Bills 1st ( posssible 4th starter )
Availible 9th pick: Haden, Bulaga,Morgan,McClain or if you don't like any of them (which I do) trade down again.
I know Suh could be a great DT but they do say that position is a high risk because you can dominate by overpowering guys in college but not always in the pro's, and the 9 pick should be a starter but until proven who knows, the guys your getting are starters in the NFL!
I honestly don't think this team is that many moves away from being good. add a left guard with 1 of the other picks and things are looking good IMO. Whatcha think?

Don't take Kyle Williams or Marshawn Lynch
We should trade down for Donte Whitner, this year’s first, this year’s 3rd, and next year’s first if we trade with Buffalo. Then we could draft JPP, Joe Haden, Anthony Davis, Brian Bulaga, or maybe even reach a little and take CJ Spiller.
Every PRO I have heard from says Suh in UNBELIEVABLE!
I put a lot of stock into what former GM’s, scouts, and draft analysts say. But I put the MOST stock in what current players say.
When current players have been interviewed, I have yet to hear ONE say that the would select anyone over Suh. Yesterday, Takeo Spikes and Marshall Faulk both said they would pick Suh because he is SPECIAL.
I am paraphrasing, but Spikes said something like “I would pick Suh if I was the Rams because he is an NFL talent right now. He is always aroung the ball—-stopping the run, sacking the qb, even tracking wide receivers downfield. When I see a player like that, the defense feeds off of that and it makes everyone on the defense play better.”
Marcellus Wiley said on SportsNation that he thinks Suh is more likely to be a Hall of Famer than just a Pro Bowler.
For these reasons, I would NOT trade down if Suh is available. If he is gone, back up the truck and load up the picks.
Just my two cents.
Just give me 25 guys on the last year of their contracts; I'll win a pennant every year....Sparky Anderson
wouldn't mind gettin Whitner
I dunno if he’s worth passing on Suh. Marsawn is good when he’s not suspended I don’t want a part of that mess right now. Kyle williams pass on him too not really worth giving up that pick.

Wow
I haven’t heard that Bills rumor but that would be a great move for the Lions. It would definitely solve our running back situation with a young back equivalent to a draft pick in Lynch, and also Whitner, who played at Ohio State so he might play a little better back in the midwest with family not too far away.
It would solve two needs right away and they can have their choice of almost ANY, except maybe Okung, offensive tackle in the draft or crazier things have happened and maybe even Berry will be available even thought they already would have Whitner, I’m sure they can work around that, as crazy as it sounds. Haden should also be their and maybe McCoy drops also but a lot is wishful thinking but I would love the move.

Lynch has been suspended once already, right? Next time it is eight games?
The Bills fans cannot stand Whitner and view him as a major reach and a failure. I like Williams the DT, but the “bigger is better” group will not.
I would want Jackson instead of Lynch, but they won’t give him up.
And yes calvin, you are correct, there is no Santa Claus.
well
Fred Jackson’s 29, so hes getting up there for an RB…Lynch is young, and has some talent. Whitner wasn’t worth the 8th pick in the draft, but he is a pretty solid safety. You think they would give us Jarius Byrd? I would take him

I like Jackson because he does not have many miles on him.
He might have as many carries as Lynch. I just checked NFL.com and Lynch has 650 carries and Jackson only has 425.

Good points if he turns into a superstar that should raise everyones level and i’d have to agree. But if theres any doubt you could really fill a lot of needs and not have to trade that far down.
I like the idea
three very young, good players, and we move down within the top 10 with plenty of solid talent on the board. I would personally take Derrick Morgan b/c I doubt Joe Haden will be there

If Suh is gone I think it’s a no brainer to do something like this, and it only increases the value because now you have choice of QB’S. If not and they think Suh is Reggie White or Lawrence Taylor or someone that is bring everyones level up then no I wouldn’t. I really really like Morgan or Haden as a Lion +
I'm thinking Bills and Seahawks are more likely
Could be wrong though. If it were to happen though, I think Bulaga or Morgan would be solid picks.
The Bringers of Hope: Stafford - Delmas - C. Johnson - Pettigrew - Levy - Hill - Schwartz

I think if the hawks had anything to offer it would be Hawthorne MLB,or DE Lawrence Jackson 1st rounder 3 years ago(but he a USC guy so Carroll might be able to turn him around) I wonder if they could pry Curry out of there. The 6th pick still leaves a shot at Berry, Okung or McCoy

The reason I not including many picks with these deals is because these teams are rebuilding as well and would be very reluctant at giving up picks. But seem perfectly OK with giving up former top picks that havent panned out. Doesn’t mean there crap just maybe the system there in or there’s been coaching changes and they haven’t been properly developed. Steve Young comes to mind in Tampa a bust, 49ers HOF.(and yes sometimes there just crap) But I like the moves being made and I think they’ll know the difference of who will fit in and who wont.
