With the free agent signings heres what i like to see
Hello again Poders, here in Ky i am thinking with the free agent signings if my thougts are possible.I think the Lions with the trades, and free agent signings iam thinking this is possible after the jump will give my first 3 rd draft.I say Lions trade with Seahawks for 6th and 14th pick. Then this is where fellow Lion fans might disagree with me i say offer the Dolphins Sims and Morris 2010 2nd round pick and 2011 1st rd pick then after the jump will give what i think the Lions could do in the draft first 3 rds in draft.Thoughts.Now to the draft.
We will have 3 1st rd picks remember.
1 a)Haden 1 b)Rolando McClain 1c)Bryan Price 3rd)Blount 4th)Kurt Coleman then the rest of draft pick up some oline men and depth at other positions.I think if the Lions do this 8 or 9 wins next year.I think with KVB use to having a big dt next to him why not Price who i think wil lbe a good dt for this team and a big body which the coaches want, and then i am thinking McClain because i think he was the best player on Alabama defense. Then Blount with Brown and Smith we may have our backfeild settled for years.I think this is possible.Or am i drinking to much blue kool aid.

Why Would Seattle give up.....
……both picks in such a deep draft….never happen.

Yeah, agreed.
Obviously this post is titled ‘what you would like to see’ and not ‘what I think is going to happen’, but I’ve seen lots of people posting about trading with Seattle… I really don’t understand where that comes from. The Seahawks would have to be crazy to trade two first rounders to move up
Agreed with both Nate and Bennie
No way is Seattle going to trade 2 1st rnd picks to move up. That would me a Millen move in such a deep draft.

lol
but hey, maybe that’s how Carroll wants to make his mark in Seattle and what better team to take advantage of this than THE detroit lions

I agree on trading down...
I think Seattle MIGHT do it if Bradford is there but thats a tough pill for them to swollow..I see the Browns as a trade target since they have 11 picks in the first 5 rounds. I am for next years first being traded for say a #20 slotish pick. I would go for Kyle wilson. Take Browns 7th overall and drop down to say bills at #9 so they can get there QB. I would keep trading down till I am around say 14th – 18th. We would for sure have a second 2nd round from the Browns and a few from trading there 1st rounder down a time or two. I would move one of my 2nd rounders back up to around 12th -18th overall. I think that would leave us with say 3, 1st round picks and 2-3 2nd rounders. My picks would look like this.
1st A.) Bulaga, B.) Lupita C.) K. Wilson
2nd A.) Robinson B.) Pounce C.) Terrence Cody
3rd A.) M. Rolle and if we get another 3rd out of the deal I would take, B.) Dexter, C. Black or Decause or how ever you spell his name.
Also i would sign Lilja..
Our line would look like from left to right Backus, lilja, Pouncy, Lupita, Bulaga.
I would leave it up to the coaches as to were to put them other then this, a few of these guys can play multiple postitions. I would also take Blount with the 4th rounder. I would think other then LT in another draft our O-Line is set for years to come and our Defense would be much improved. In future drafts all we would need to do is draft a LT and from there on out the first 3 rounds could be put to the D. The bottom rounds would be BPA for depth…Mabe in 3 yrs we take a WR… We could actually be in the Super Bowl in only a few years if we did this. Or at least be a heavy contender for it.
*facepalm*
C’mon, there is no way Seattle is giving up both their first round picks, this has to be one of the worst ideas around…btw, I would take their first rounder + 2nd rounder, and thats much more plausible
The beginning of the end of the misery
McClain is an intriguing pick
Do we need him though? Levy looks to be set as our starting MLB…
The Bringers of Hope: Stafford - Delmas - C. Johnson - Pettigrew - Levy - Hill - Schwartz
Zack Follett: he will hurt your mind.
i say...
sign ryan lilja & hank fraley as solid stop gaps on the oline to be replace with future first rounders…
Free Agency
Hi, Dolphins fan stopping by. Seattle is weighing Brandon Marshall, plus they have too many needs, so unless Detroit blows them away with a trade offer, it’s not going to happen. Plus, I doubt the Dolphins are interested in Ernie Sims and Maurice Morris. Some holes to fill first, like a change-of-pace runner and some quicker ILB. As for the Lions, Lilja or Pitts would be a very good signing considering the team is going to put more on Stafford. I would not be surprised if another RB was brought in. Lions will likely land Suh or McCoy, and then it’s best available (defensive) player from there. ILB depth, SS, one of the better corners, and so on. I’m surprised Lito Sheppard isn’t being considered on a one-year contract, as he was a good cover man, but not a ballhawk. Sorry for the length of this post. Good luck to you all
Touchdown, Ronnie Brown Edition!
Lilja doesnt fit our scheme
dude is the like the size of a DE, and we play in a division that has Williamses, Tommie Harris, Ryan Pickett, and BJ Raji (ie biig DTs)
