Grocery store guy
They did a commercial on this guy during the SB. You can google it, pretty good story. In the Lions case I’d get him short term if possible(coming off injury) then get a couple more OL in the draft. Can’t hurt if the price and term is right. (I’d paste it or link it if i knew what I was doing)

Hey take him
NFL players are comparing Suh to being a probowl type player to being a HOF type guy. FO don’t over look that. you might want to draft him if he falls in our laps. A player like that might allow KVB get 10 sacks along with the much over hype Avil which I think could still progress under the proper type of D. DRAFT SUH………..!!!!!!!!
Chester
I haven’t seen this but Scout.com has him rated as the highest ranked UFA offensive guard, but hes played most of the positions on the line. Probably would start at LG if healthy for the start of the season.
over Bobbie Williams?

Bobbie Williams is extra old
IIRC he’s almost 40. I’m sure he loses ranking points for low upside.

I have been calling it...
the guy has started at LT too.
if the shoe fits...get another one just like it - George Carlin
According to football focus
Pitts ranked 14th in 2007, and 13th in 2008 for left guards. 2009 didn’t play enough games to reg. because of microfracture surgery. When they test him if he gets the all clear he’s pretty good. Ramirez ranked 2nd last ammonst LG in 2009 (not good)
In Madden 10 franchise
I picked him up to fill LG, I think. Working out ok so far.
(Except OL sometimes has mini-strokes while on the field and decides run-blocking the safety 20 yds away is more important than picking up the LB blitzing)

It's fun to look at Madden rankings for FAs and things
But if you go based on that, our secondary (as it stands now) will be even worse than last year, with no CBs even in the 70s.

Would like to have a guy like Pitts.....
However, I wonder about the reliability of the sources here……
Oh you didn't know?? You're ass better CALLLLLLLL SOMEBODY!!!!!
I'd love too chime in here as well
But I just don’t know enough about him to give a legit comment so I’ll just say that he can play at multiple spots on the line, in the prime years of his playing carreer, and we need depth on our line. . . . .Sign him if we can!
How many lumps you want Doc?
Not bad...
He is not bad but i really like Lilja as well..i would be ok with either of all the FAs left this year. Personally I think this draft at the top should focus on O-line with CB being are 2nd focus. The Lions have upgraded every position since Mayhew and Schwartz took over, except O-line. They might have picked up a few O-line guys but not upgrades. This is why they will focus on the line as well as D backs. Maybe adding 1 DT as well as a running back. I say double down our #2 overall and get 2 late first rounders, taking O-lineman. Trade Cherious (sp) and Peterson. We can get some 3rd rounders for these guys. Then with 2nd round and many 3rd round take CBs and D-line help.
Sounds kinda Maddenish to me
Again our Defence was that bad, we could have signed just about anyone and they would have been upgrades, we still have along way to go to not be taking almost every defencive player that will come to Detroit. Think about it we have 1 position covered and we lost our depth at that position when we didn’t resign Foote. Our secondery is still piss poor at best, and even adding the 2 DL guys we are still laking talent enough to compete upfront. D all the way with a sprinkling of O-line help in this draft.

pitts is a good player
However; I think he just had microsurgery on his knees… you know… as in no cartiledge (bone on bone) left on the knees so they try to create it by scraping the bone to build up calcium deposits. I know that he might still be able to play. Not a sure thing though.
Rob Sims is available for a 4th round and he is the best guard that Seattle has.

it just depends on what the DR. did
i had my knee scoped and he clean out my knee removed 2 calcium deposits that had formed in there and drilled 4 holes in my the top of my shin to make it bleed and the scar tissue would act as cartlidge and it has done well for me up to that point.. so he may have had something like done

My general thoughts on FA's = If he has talent, try to sign him...
The Bringers of Hope: Stafford - Delmas - C. Johnson - Pettigrew - Levy - Hill - Schwartz
Zack Follett: he will hurt your mind.
I love Chester
He would be a HUGE vetran addition to are O-line and I think would do wonders for Staff.

I have hurd...
Its between us and the 49ers on Pitts and Pacman. Lilja is also to visit the Chiefs, that is his hometown, I believe Lilja will sign there.

I think if he has a decent showing then yes...
Other then his scuffle his body gaurd in his own hotel room, Pacman has been out of trouble since the strip club thing. His best years were under Schwartz. If he shows that he can at least be average or good depth and will improve through training camp then Schwartz will take him. Pacman already knows how to play the way Schawartz wants. Also in Pacmans defense, the body gaurd was drunk and so was Pacman in that scuffle. It was more like 2 drunk friends getting into a argument at a party. He knows this is his last chance so at least while hes here for a year he is gonna be good boy. He has stayed out of trouble since becoming a dad.
Better then Manny
but not a guy you want as a long-term starter. I’d be alright signing him, but he is not the solution to our O-line problems by any means.
No but he would buy us time
He’d be a solid player until we can find some young lineman to start plugging into the Offense.

I am not sold.
I have my doubts though since he played on the line that allowed Carr to be sacked into silliness. On the upside we could end up with a solid starter at LG and an upgrade. On the downside he could be done for good. Looking at the risk and reward I don’t feel the downside is much as long as we still draft a guard this year, even if it is a late round “project”.
