FOR Suh or NOT for Suh---Your FINAL VOTE

We have been going back and forth about this for what seems like forever now. The question has been posted a million times in a million different ways----IF Suh is available at #2, do you want us to draft him?

This is YOUR final vote---the one that will live in infamy. The one that we will have chronicled for ALL to see FOREVER! A public record of your genius or your stupidity.

I don't relly care if we have discussion on it---as it really isn't necessary any longer. We just need to have your official stance for ALL of POD to see for years to come. It's far better to do this now as a future cross-check than to have you come back after the boom or bust to say "I told you so".

Without further adieu, cast your vote!

If Suh is available to the Lions with the #2 pick, do you want him?

This IS the OFFICIAL record!

no changing minds. The poll is open until April 22 at 7:30 PM EST.

So if you are unsure, hold your vote until draft time.

How can you say no changing minds?

Things like the draft need to be fluid. As new information becomes available, opinions change. Can’t be set in stone or it’ll be the Millen era all over again.

But for the record, I did vote for Suh based on what I know (or think I know) to this point.

by vanman on Mar 13, 2010 9:37 AM EST up reply actions

LOL. What NEW info are you expecting about Suh...

or anyone else that would change your mind about whether he is the best player int he draft for us?

I guess if Matthew got hit by a bus between now and then I will agree to pull the poll, but in the absence of that I can’t imagine what changes could happen that would make your opinion morer fluid.

Suh is my vote

I like Berry, Okung and McCoy, but I just think that Suh is the best player in this draft.

The Bringers of Hope: Stafford - Delmas - C. Johnson - Pettigrew - Levy - Hill - Schwartz
Zack Follett: he will hurt your mind.

by Hyperion Ecta on Mar 13, 2010 2:46 AM EST reply actions

Is this even a debate?

I think 90+% of PODers want Suh. All of these Okung/McCoy/Berry situations are in the event that Suh isn’t available. The real question here is who do we like if Suh is not around. That’s the most divisive issue.

by sgdbw90 on Mar 13, 2010 2:54 AM EST reply actions

and 95%

of the NFL fans want him on their teams. I bet the Rams fans are fighting it out as to who to draft also. Kong or QB.

How many lumps you want Doc?

by davis0169 on Mar 13, 2010 1:03 PM EST up reply actions

they are

60% of the Rams fans want Suh.
40% want Bradford.

At least that was the impression I got when visiting their site.

Wonders how you produce 8 seasons of below .500 football and mange to keep your job as a gm.. here's 1 man wondering what kind of black mail Millen had on the Ford family.

Well in hindsight...

…it was a good thing we didn’t take Smith. Curry wouldn’t have been a bad pick, but I don’t know that we didn’t get a better value with Levy since we don’t have to pay him “Top 5 Money”

by Mister Gloom on Mar 14, 2010 1:15 PM EDT up reply actions

exactly my point

ya never know what will happen i just know i was on the curry ban wagon as well as the j. smith ban wagon.. but now i think we did draft the right guy so iam happy about where we are going

LOL The process is nowhere near finished.

Really guys, this Suh love needs to be toned down. Most of the fans who are screaming for him now barely knew who he was before the Texas-Nebraska game.

Okung or even Berry could be better options. Its possible.

by NorthLeft12 on Mar 13, 2010 7:10 AM EST reply actions

Are You Kidding....

….A lot of us have known about Suh since he was a junior at Nebraska…..Come on man give people some credit.

by BennieBladesFan on Mar 13, 2010 10:34 AM EST up reply actions

He was a popular name after the first couple weeks of the season

But yeah, his star moment came against Texas in perhaps the biggest game of his life. That’s what you get when you play for Nebraska and get little national exposure.

My issue with Okung...

…now that I’ve had time to think about it. Is Okung a significantly better player in college than the many, many, many OL that the Lions have taken in my lifetime that we should gamble the second overall pick on him? I’d say that he is not. Offensive Line has generally not been considered a strength in this draft. Though if we want to improve it I’d say we spend a second or third round pick on a guard line John Jerry of Mississippi (probably a third round pick in te case of Jerry since he should be available by that point, a second round pick if we want one of the guys grading out higher).

I am sick of voting for this

there for I wont LOL. We have talked this to death guys can’t we be more creative and find new things to talk about.

me too

Every poll I have seen on this site always has the large majority for Suh, and then a minority for Berry. I think that’s pretty much set in stone for the people on this board. Unless something crazy happens, this seems to be the opinion.

by lionsfan85 on Mar 13, 2010 11:54 AM EST up reply actions

Here is a question for you...

If Bradford is taken #1, would you rather
1. Trade the pick down, assuming we get a good vaule of picks ?
2. Rather take either Suh, McCoy, Berry or Okung ?

by Joey-P on Mar 14, 2010 4:11 PM EDT up reply actions

Trading is not an option in my scenario...

however, if Suh is ont he board I want him. If he is gone, I would trade the pick is possible.

Write me up for a yes vote.

Sure I could be wrong. Wouldn’t be the first time, won’t be the last time. But I truely believe he is the right pick.

I may have lost our bet my man………..St. Louis could do the unthinkable and pick Bradford but its a win-win. I’ll post my admiration of your super Lions intelligence but we land Suh so all is good. Still have to wait and see…………..

Hey brother NYC!

Ya still never know. St Louis has refrained from drafting a qb in the first round before—-they could do it again. Just in case, I am warming up my keyboard to sing your praises!

Great to hear from you again my friend!!

by footstock on Mar 13, 2010 8:09 PM EST up reply actions

I can't see them picking a DL though...

A glance through Pro Football References customizable draft search indicates that the Rams have taken 5 Defensive Lineman in the first or second rounds since 2001 (and 13 defensive players total in the first or second rounds in that time frame). I can’t see them spending another one given how bad the team is. Heck, I can’t even see the Rams taking defense period at this point.

by Mister Gloom on Mar 14, 2010 1:27 PM EDT up reply actions

I have always felt that way...

Which is why I made the bet with NYC that they would take a QB over Suh. I was just trying to make him feel better as he will be writing my memoirs!
