Lions Re-Sign Copeland Bryan
Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Lions have re-signed defensive end Copeland Bryan.
Bryan became a restricted free agent on March 5, but because he was not tendered an offer by the Lions, he was free to sign wherever he wanted. Had he signed an offer sheet, the Lions would not have had an opportunity to match the offer, nor would they have received any compensation for him. That obviously wasn't a concern to the Lions, though, which makes sense considering Bryan has now re-signed with the team.
UPDATE: Bryan's deal is for one year and has been confirmed by his agent.

I just checked out the Saints Blog
65% of them would rather keep Hargrove rather than loose him and gain a 3rd round pick??? maybe he’s better than we thought.
Its a high 3rd rounder too..
so….maybe so

Agreed Bennie, I dont think we saw enough to judge.
Lets hope he has something..I believe the Lions were waiting to see how his recovery was coming along before signing.
Only.....
…….He was out for the season though.

a bad sprain
in proffesional sport really means a tear of some sort for the most part. most small tears don’t even need surgery.

Yep...
Went from a starter to a back up while chasing the money. No love for the game or his hometown fans. All he did was talk down the Lions as well as never say thank you to the fans in ANY post I have read. Just its good to be back with a winner…BLA BLA BLA……His additude is so poor, now I see why we didnt keep him here. Sounds like he probley cryed to much about loosing.
With the 2nd pick of the 2010 draft........?
With this signing and the trade for C.Williams signing VandenB, and all the other ends and D tackles the Lions have on the roster now… more and more it looks as if the 2nd pick quite possibly will be Okung.
Wha?
Bringing in Williams and KVB lifts us from dreadful to cautiously below-average. Re-signing a bunch of depth guys is in no way affecting Mayhew and Schwartz’s decision-making at #2.
“Welp, we signed Copeland Bryan. Tell Suh to take a hike.”
"from dreadful to cautiously below-average"
Best assessment of the Lions D-line from last season to next season I have seen this off-season.
+1

P.S.
First day as a SBNation member. Just found out about this site recently and I’m amazed at the level-headed Lions analysis here. Gives me hope for our franchise, right along with our ’09 draft picks. Cheers.

Charles Scott ran a 4.53 40 in LSU pro day
at his size great pick up for a smash mouth RB Schwartz could use.
Decent resigning
He showed some promise last season, looks to be nothing more than a backup though.
