Lions Re-Sign Other Four Exclusive Rights Free Agents?

According to NFL.com's transactions page, the Lions have re-signed Cedric Peerman, Jake Nordin, Corey Hilliard, and Zack Follett, the team's remaining exclusive rights free agents.  It was confirmed by the team yesterday that exclusive rights free agent DeAngelo Smith was re-signed, but so far there hasn't been any confirmation from the team for the other four.

Even though nothing has been reported on the Lions' website, it is likely that all of the exclusive rights free agents have indeed been re-signed.  I say that because Zack Follett confirmed to Pride of Detroit that he did in fact re-sign with the team earlier today (woo real reporting!), so it's probably safe to assume that the others did as well.

If that is true

I hope you are negotiating some sort of monthly post that Zack could write. Would be a great draw-card for POD and a fantastic read. C’mon Sean, do a Mayhew, get it done!

Good to see solid depth re-signings

Follet definitely deserves it, I like Nordin, and Peerman is a former UVA player I personally thought alot of. Our depth is improving, and I like what I see.

off topic but...

why is there no hype about toby gerhart and the lions? i think he would be a solid and in the second or third round with decent speed and good size.

by Thomas Hart on Mar 18, 2010 2:21 AM EDT reply actions

Probably because..

He is under the radar with all the other backs this year. I am skeptical of him mainly because his stock rose during the combine. IMO players that get ups from combine performance have a greater chance of being good athletes and not so good football players. Personally I don’t care what 40 time he ran I want Blount over him and we can likely get Blount in round 5 where Gerhart will go 4th. Though I will say I would be totally with us taking this guy. He does look like a beast too. I think were gonna be picking at 7 anyways and end up with McCoy, Berry, Okung, or Bulaga. I am hoping for Odrick to slide to round 2 but if he don’t they could take a CB and I definately want them to take Jon Asamoah in round 3, IMO he is the best guard in the draft. I don’t like Iupati at all. And that leaves round 4-5 for RB,CB, or more OL Prospects.

The official Lions website is trash

I never go on there to check to see who has been traded or released or signed. They rarely update the damn thing so I try not to waste any time. I usually come here or the nfl’s official site to see if the Lions have actually aquired someone.

anything on the site UNTIL all is signed, sealed, and delivered
