Mile High Report Mock Draft Trade Offer

I am representing POD on the milehighreport.com live mock on Sunday. Since it is a deep draft, I wanted to offer a contingency trade that deviated from the standard draft trade value chart in an attempt to stockpile more picks in the early part of each round.

The contingency is that IF SUH is taken #1 overall...

  1. We will trade with a top 7 team for a 1st and 2nd
  2. We will trade with a 8-12 team for 1st, second, and 3rd

My thought is that the draft is SO deep that we will get a GREAT player anyplace in the top 12, and be able to add more good players in the second and third. If with a top 7 team, we can still get Berry, Haden, or Okung (in alphabetical order). If with a top 12 team, we can still possibly get one of those 3 OR Bulaga, Trent Williams, or Kyle Wilson (also in alpha order)

Without giving away my 2nd round targets, I think the Lions would do either of these deals. Since we are a family here, dysfunctional as it may be, I wanted to open up some dialogue to seek your feedback. Of course, it is only a 3 round draft, so it didn't do me any good to acquire picks in rounds 4-7, so I didn't bother to ask for them.

OK, lemme have it gang!

See if you can get a fourth as well from Seattle and Cleveland

1+ 2 for picks 3,4, & 5.
1+ 2 + 4 for picks 6 and 7.

Those two picks, especially Clevelands, has the possibility that we don’t get McCoy or Berry. They must pay more for us to take that chance.

If you really want to be an assh*le

St. Louis needs a quarterback. Trade Stafford and the #2 to move up to #1 and grab Tim Tebow. This is the Broncos SBN site, right? Trade Calvin Johnson to the Chargers for their first-rounder.

See if a WTF move like that gets you banned for disrespecting a mock draft.

I’m feeling subversive today. Is it 5:00 yet?

Hey that's a timeout, I can play right? yeah, get me--get the F-- Help me up...I can throw the ball if you need me to throw the ball...

So far 86% want to make at least one of the trades...

and 13% think I am an asshole. That’s much lower than I mocked! lol.

We still are lacking talent overall

so I’m in the boat of the more picks, the better.

Good question.

Let’s say we swap with the Browns. They get our no. 2 so they can get Bradford/Clausen, we get their no. 7. I’m looking at the WalterFootball mock, which has your man Eric berry being taken by the Browns at 7. Obviously if he’s there, he’d be the pick.

If not (it wouldn’t surprise me), we can take Trent Williams, which will shore up our O-line something serious. I’ve heard a number of analysts say they think he’ll be every bit as good a pro as Okung or Bulaga.

With our pick at 34, we hopefully get whoever’s left from the Wilson/McCourty duo. If there not on the board and we got Berry in the first over Williams, we take OT Roger Saffold, or Maurkice Pouncey if he’s on the board still.

With pick 38 from the Browns, I would take a guy that I personally like, but for whatever reason fellow POD’ers don’t seem crazy about: Jahvid Best.

The result is that with our top 3 picks in the first two rounds, we are upgrading the O-line, secondary AND the RB postion. If this happens for real, I will be tripping balls.
